Journal of Patient Experience’s Post

What are the critical success factors for virtual care? This study in the Journal of Patient Experience analyzed 11 patient-physician dyads through recorded virtual encounters and surveys. Key findings revealed high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction, with 91% of patients rating telemedicine as effective as in-person visits for addressing health concerns. Clinicians demonstrated strong patient-centered communication, fostering engagement and shared decision-making. Despite positive outcomes, barriers such as technological navigation, connectivity issues, and limited diversity in the study population were noted, emphasizing the need for broader inclusion and technical support. This research underscores telemedicine's potential to deliver meaningful, patient-centered care while identifying areas for improvement. Reference: 1. Bonner TJ, Noss B, Hayes SN, et al.
