As we celebrate our nation’s Declaration of Independence that happened 248 years ago, CONSIDER THIS: The American flag does NOT fly because it represents one political party or another. Our flag and this holiday are a reminder of founding fathers and brave soldiers who fought for our nation’s INDEPENDENCE and the FREEDOM to self-govern under GENUINE DEMOCRACY. It is a reminder for ALL races of our nation’s enduring commitment to JUSTICE, LIBERTY, and the importance of INTEGRITY (in the public eye and behind closed doors). As we navigate the complexities of these times, may we ALL choose to engage in encouraging THOUGHTFUL reflection and DIALOGUE instead of divisiveness. As our pledge of allegiance says: We are ONE nation under God. Isn’t time we started acting like that? . . . #July4th #Independence #OneNationUnderGod

White supremacism is stronger than ever in America. A black man with his hands up was pulled over and assaulted with a dog in front of his child and all over ‘a license plate tag light being too dim’. As college students, faculty, and anyone supporting the Palestinians as they are being ethnically cleansed by their brutal military occupier, America is getting closer and closer to ‘The Threshold of Violence’. Don’t know what that is? The military does. It’s the point at which peaceful protest is abandoned due to its futility in lieu of a more radical form of resistance. Power is not surrendered voluntarily. Rulers and dictators don’t open their domination up to ‘elections’ which is why the upcoming Selection season is particularly impotent and sterile. Freedom doesn’t come through the military forces of a global economic regime. ‘Thank you for your service’ is a nonsensical slogan employed to further lead you to invest in this charade. You are an indentured servant with no choice. No power. No freedom.

Today, we honor Juneteenth, a pivotal moment in American history that marks the ending of slavery in the United States. As a law firm dedicated to justice and equality, we reflect on the ongoing journey towards civil rights and social equity. Let's use this day to remember the past, acknowledge the present, and commit to a future where liberty and justice are truly for all. https://lnkd.in/gPnkkt7k

Equity is the closest any human system of justice can come to divine justice. If we can achieve Equity, God will sort out the difference. The Bill of Rights and the Uniform Code of Miiitary Justice are both anchored by EQUiTY. The standard for Equity to which the Sergeant Major refers is a stoic dimension established by the Roman Legions by a Roman general, Titus Manlius Imperiosus Torquatus who executed his son for disobedience. This is a Wikipedia summary of the event: >>>>During the conduct of the war, Manlius and his co-consul, Publius Decius Mus, decided that the old military discipline would be reinstated, and no man was allowed to leave his post, under penalty of death. Manlius's son, seeing an opportunity for glory, forgot this stricture, left his post with his friends, and defeated several Latin skirmishers in battle. He brought the spoils back to his father, who publicly berated him for disobedience and had him executed. "Manlian discipline" afterwards became an expression for merciless upholding of rules<<<< (Wikipediea https://lnkd.in/e6t884wk) Now, as I say, this standard of EQUITY is the anchor of both the civilian rule of law and the military justice system, Socretes submitted himself to the Athenian secular rule of law as an object lesson in the essential basis of democracy. Jesus submitted Himself to both the Law of Moses and to the Roman rule of law as an endorement and validation of Socretes example. In this respect, the Declaration of Indepences is anchored by 6 Ideals of Democratic Socialism to replace the Magna Carta of Tory Socialism:'s Life Liberty and Property/ John Locke identifies. Thos 6 Ideals are: Life Liberty, Fraternity, Equaulity, EQUITY, and the Pursuit of Happiness. The 6 white stripes of Old Glory symbolize those Ideals. The 6 red stripes are the blood of the Patriots at Yorktown who sanctified those Ideals. The 2nd Amendment represents the Constitutional boundary between the Bill of Rights and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The "well regulated militia' claused in the 2nd Amendment refers specividally to thie Ideal of EQUITY of the Miitary Justice System. It has nothing to do with private gun ownership. Furthermore, the EQUITY ideal is what is expressed by the E in Mark Cuban's DEI/ZenBusiness Model, Prject 2025 is opposed to EQUITY as it may apply to white supremaicests. The concept of EQUITY in this regards has obviously never occurred to Trump. J.D. Vance was a Marine, so it’s hard to know wht he believes. The military has been a DEI instituion since Truman integrated the federal government.

On September 11, 2001, the United States faced one of the darkest moments in its history. The attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the heroic stand of those aboard Flight 93 shook the nation to its core. Yet, out of that darkness, the enduring spirit of America shone through with unwavering strength, resilience, and unity. In the face of terror, countless brave souls—firefighters, police officers, and ordinary citizens—answered the call without hesitation, embodying the courage and selflessness that define the American character. Across the nation, flags were raised higher, voices spoke louder in unity, and communities stood together with a shared resolve to rebuild, to remember, and to never forget. September 11 will always remind us of the profound sacrifices made and the undying spirit that unites all Americans. It is a day that underscores the ideals of freedom and democracy that the nation stands for, and the unbreakable will of a people who rise stronger from every challenge. Today, we honor the fallen, salute the heroes, and pledge to carry forward the values that make America a beacon of hope and liberty.

From the Dec 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor until the US-Japan Security Treaty of September 1951 we went from fierce enemies to strong Allies in just 10 years...occasionally US foreign policy and international security relations gets something right 🇺🇸 🇯🇵 https://lnkd.in/enZ2eJux "...the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, which heavily damaged the US naval base...opening the Pacific theater of World War II. The United States made a massive investment in naval power and systematically destroyed Japan's offensive capabilities while island hopping across the Pacific. To force a surrender, the Americans systematically bombed Japanese cities, culminating in the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945. Japan surrendered, and was subjected to seven years of military occupation by the United States, during which the Americans under General Douglas MacArthur eliminated militarism and rebuilt the country's economic and political systems to transform Japan into a democracy. In the 1950s and 1960s Japan entered into a military alliance with the United States, and experienced unprecedented economic growth by sheltering under the U.S. nuclear umbrella, taking full advantage of U.S.-backed free trade schemes, and supplying American wars in Korea and Vietnam. Japanese exports to the United States dramatically expanded in the postwar period, with Japanese automobiles and consumer electronics being especially popular, and Japan became the world's second largest economy after the United States (in 2010 it dropped to third place after China). From the late 20th century and onwards, the United States and Japan have had firm and active political, economic and military relationships. US government officials generally consider Japan to be one of its closest allies and partners. Most Americans generally perceive Japan positively, with 84% viewing Japan favorably in 2021; however, few Americans consider Japan one of their closest allies in public opinion polls, with only 1% of Americans picking Japan as their most important foreign policy partners, far behind other key American allies, according to a 2021 Pew survey. In a New York Times analysis of YouGov data in 2017, American survey respondents ranked Japan as their 21st closest ally, also behind other key American allies. Japan is currently one of the most pro-American countries in the world, with 67% of Japanese viewing the United States favorably, according to a 2018 Pew survey; and 75% saying they trust the United States as opposed to 7% for China. In a 2019 Pew survey, 63% of people in Japan named the United States their closest ally, far higher than any other country named by Japanese respondents."
On this #NationalPearlHarborRemembranceDay, we reflect on the attack 83 years ago that changed the course of history and we remember the service, bravery and most importantly, the sacrifice of all who defended our nation’s freedom. #VFWSalute

We are pleased to host this annual event and excited to be adding a reading of the Freedom Petition co-authored by Prince Whipple. The inclusion of Prince Whipple and the Freedom Petition is very much in keeping with the theme of independence; and invites us to recognize that our journey as a nation is long, and full of triumphs and short-comings, enlightenment and contradiction. Democracy is an ideal that requires ongoing care, practice, and tending; and the two stories shared together is an energizing reminder of that. https://lnkd.in/eUig2UGc
