We're becoming aware that critical consumption of images is necessary, but the phrase "visual literacy" sounds far too simplistic for our current reality. It implies we need to learn how to view, like learning to read, but to me, that would require at least semi-obvious clues to look for in the images. Does it truly mean that we need to learn not to trust anything we see?
