The recent COVID restrictions and heightened alert in Singapore may create a lot of uncertainties, fears and struggles for many people and businesses. Most of us grew up in environments that have conditioned us to be risk-averse. When we live in this new normal with so many changes, it may be challenging to adapt to it. Tim Ferris said 'What we fear doing most is usually what we most need to do.’ This quote resonates so much with my journey of overcoming my fear of public speaking to doing something beyond my wildest expectation, becoming a TEDx speaker. To be honest, there are so many things I still need to learn about public speaking. I'm definitely not the most fluent speaker, not the most confident speaker, not the most inspiring speaker. But hey, who am I comparing myself with? At the end of the day, it’s about honoring the journey, taking the first step even when we have so much doubt about ourselves, continue to believe in ourselves, and make 1% progress every time we are being given the opportunity to shine. 🌟 Change is always not easy, it takes patience, acceptance, vulnerability and willingness to change to improve the situation. In times of change like this, let’s be reminded by Albert Einstein, “in the midst of every crisis, lies great opportunity.” If you are feeling stuck in your journey, feeling stuck at home, need some inspirations to get you going, come and join us Dr Raman K.
