More surgical centers and hospitals are moving towards modular operating room ceiling systems.
Benefits of modular ceiling systems compared to traditional stick built construction. Better quality control, faster and reliable delivery times, lower costs, less disruptions to the facility, single source of responsibility and makes retrofits down the road easier and less expensive.
Price Industries' Ultrasuite® is a customizable air distribution and lighting solution specifically engineered for hospital operating rooms. High-output LED lighting combined with precision equalized laminar airflow eliminates the traditional “light ring”, opening valuable ceiling space for surgical equipment while optimizing particulate removal from the surgical zone. Conforming to all ASHRAE 170 requirements, Ultrasuite® is the perfect combination of performance, aesthetics, and efficiency.

Are you looking for an X-ray screen?
Whether you are looking at an X-ray screen for a new facility, or looking to modernise or refurbish an existing facility. Let me outline the top 5 things to consider when assessing what screen to go for from a Commercial perspective:
Size - fixed vs mobile. How big do you need it? What do you need it for? Although the majority of screens we do are fixed static screens, have you considered whether one of our mobile options might work for you?
Glazing:
With typically a 1000mm lower blank panel and 1000mm glazing top panel. How can you maximise your work top space to make full use of the glazing. Could reducing the glazing height, whilst increasing the lower panel height offer you a saving?
Location:
Where do you need it in the room?
What orientation does it need to be?
What size do you need to comfortably work behind?
Is there potential to put it in front of a door, whilst still offering a comfortable space to work behind, this could save you money, as the door may not require shielding.
Lead Thickness:
What thickness of lead do you require in your screen?
Have you had an RPA (Radiation Protection Advisor) provide a report to ascertain the lead thickness required so that specific safety standards are met?
Design and Aesthetics:
Do you want a particular laminate to be in keeping with the room/facility?
Do you require LED mood lighting that can be linked with the room lighting to help patients with their moods and anxiety?
Do you require vinyl wrapping with an aquarium or cartoon skeletons or a design of your choosing for a pediatric unit or other?
Do you need the screen to comply with Radiation Protection and infection control standards?
Where do you need your cable grommets?
Do you need cupboards, PC hangers, foot rest or plinths?
With highly skilled installers, and products backed with a 10 year manufacturers warranty, be sure to specify a Raybloc - The Radiation Shielding Specialists screen in your next project.
Please take a look at this video, of a customer review from a recent installation at Wycombe Hospital highlighting first hand the benefits behind our screen upgrade, Sense-X, which includes LED lighting.

In 1989, brothers Dag and Örjan Göranson resolved to address the “elephant in the room” that plagued hospitals worldwide—privacy curtains—with what would become known as the Silentia Screen System.
More than 30 years later, the Silentia privacy screen system represents an uncompromised focus on quality, functional design, and the long-term perspective. Designed with components that can be repaired or upgraded, Silentia's screens can adapt and endure even as equipment and technology evolve in the clinical environment.
