The timeless wisdom of 'The Art of War' still holds true today. Here are five key lessons that can be applied to both business and life: 1. Know Your Enemy and Yourself: Understand your strengths and weaknesses, as well as those of your opponent, to devise effective strategies. 2. Win Without Fighting: Achieve your objectives through strategic maneuvering and diplomacy, minimizing conflict whenever possible. 3. Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability are essential for effective leadership, allowing you to adjust tactics and strategies in response to changing circumstances. 4. Deception and Misdirection: Utilizing deception and misdirection can create advantageous situations and manipulate your adversary's actions. 5. Leadership: Paramount for achieving victory, leadership qualities such as wisdom, integrity, and decisiveness inspire confidence, foster unity, and guide teams towards shared goals.

Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power. Abraham Lincoln True character reveals itself not only in how we handle challenges, but in how we wield influence and authority. When given power, the choices we make and the way we treat others become a reflection of our deepest values. Leadership is about more than just making decisions—it's about showing integrity, humility, and empathy, especially when we have the ability to shape outcomes. Those who use power for the benefit of others, rather than for personal gain, demonstrate the strength of their character. In moments of influence, our true nature is put to the test, and it’s those who lead with kindness and responsibility who leave the most lasting impact. https://lnkd.in/d4XkfuhQ

Why should leaders apply STOIC philosophy and follow their heart? Being a STOIC leader means living every day as if it's your last day. Stoicism has strong connections to leadership, some of the insights are core principles for me as an individual: 🧠 Wisdom - To distinguish between right and wrong and treat others with kindness and respect. ⚔️ Courage - Step out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself, Concentrate on your own actions and attitudes ⚖️ Justice - Maintain morale values and put the needs of others above our own 🧘 Self-control - Managing desires and emotions, ensuring inner peace. 🙏 Humility - Control our ego, learn from others Marcus Orelius the stoic emperor used to say that knowing how small we are in the greater cosmos - kept his humility Steve Jobs considered MEMENTO MORI - The notion that death is inevitable as a guiding philosophy. To ask yourself, assuming this is your last week in your role - Did you realize what you were hoping to achieve? Did you focus on what’s important? "Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. There is no reason not to follow your heart"… Great leaders remember to live their lives more meaningfully and virtuously, appreciating the present moment and focusing on what truly matters. #leadership #authenticleadership

When we rightfully stand up for ourselves, it can trigger ego and jealousy in those who hold power and intimidate you. True strength lies in recognizing their intimidation as their weakness, and using that understanding as fuel to rise higher. - When you reach positions of power yourself, break this cycle - let their poor example teach you how not to lead, becoming instead the leader you once needed. https://lnkd.in/gqPrjPQb

𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 They associate peace with happiness And they figure out that maintaining peace is core to driving success for their known purpose Peace doesn't mean that they'll sit quietly if someone around them is doing something wrong. Instead, they find the courage to speak up, regardless of what others will think and act from a place of principle and courage Because they know, that staying quiet in the face of wrong is not peace. Doing that is akin to being an accomplice to an act of wrongdoing. They understand that even if one tastes success under such circumstances, that success is tainted with the bitterness of guilt. One is not at peace when there is guilt. Instead, peace is staying in the truth, on grounds of some kind of principles that one holds oneself accountable to. Because dealing with the consequences, after doing the right thing, is far more peaceful than being a silent accomplice to something wrong. THAT is true success and only a few have the depth to understand this. #authentic #leadership

LinkedIn is a community of professionals. Why do I persist with my ingnorant race politics?! You're all working incredibly hard, doing important work. It truly is important for you & your family & your community. But for capitalism you're only useful. For now. Whatever Karl Marx was on about, he didn't anticipate A.I. & automation. He thought humans will always be needed by those who truly own the world. Capitalism only grows more brazen as time marches on & cash/equity graduates from king to God. Most of you are working on borrowed time. Many of your jobs already belong to A.I & robotics/automation. The only thing standing between you & being blacks, is POLITICS. But, when A.I automation is fully matured, & I bet it's closer than they'll ever tell you, when that day comes they'll dispense of politics altogether. Even soldiers, today, are employment pacifiers. Drone tech is far more efficient. But politics... I'm no doomsday prophet. Just let the notion sink in. What good are you, when there's something better than you at what you're doing? Would you retain yourslf, if you called the shots, & tech delivers a superior product for your clients & unimaginable profits for your shareholders? With Africans being the appendix of humanity as a body, function unknown, no one in the world will bat an eyelid when the surgical precision of A.I. warfare is demonstrated. The rest of the world have their own to protect. Only Blacks lament in song, "senzeni na, senze__ni na?" (what have we done, what ha__very we done?" The "wealthiest" continent in the world, with the poorest people in the world, dominated by the poorest continent in the world, with the richest people in the world. T.I.A baby, This.Is.Africa! Africans may not believe Cheik Anta Diop when he says Africans enslaved the Jewish people in Ancient Egypt. The Jewish people who matter have never forgotten. And you want to sing, "Senzeni na?" Knowledge is power & only the truth can set you free. When the Arabs were starving & we had the most fertile continent, they had to war & conquer for Saharan-Africa. When the Europeans were starving, they had to war & conquer to feed their own. Blacks think they can sing, dance, entertain, lament & beg, & the world will let you suckle on its udders? Sheep to the slaughter. Don't let Blue-Monday bleed into your Tuesday. The truth is necessary medicine. Reckon with it in your own time. But time is not on your side. Equity of Africa must vest in every African if we are to unite, resist our enemies, & restore our civilisation. ngoBuntu Edward

Company and organisation culture is a constant hot topic. So many employees fall prey to toxic work environments with a rule and divide style of management. Leaders have two choices — to unite or divide. True leaders will always choose to unite their teams and create healthy work spaces.
