A Solar Milestone in Ghana’s Sustainability Journey 🌞 Today, I’d like to highlight a major achievement in the renewable energy space from 2022! I came across a post today on LinkedIn and following some quick research, I discovered that Daystar Power Group, installed one of its largest solar installations for a cosmetics company in Ghana — a 1.6 MWP grid tie solar system powering the company's operations with clean energy. The environmental impact is impressive, with the system offsetting 20,150 MT of CO2 emissions, which is like planting 16,600 trees every year throughout the project’s lifetime. Plus, the financial savings for the company must be significant as well. This project is a great example of how businesses can lead the way in sustainability. Huge kudos to Daystar Power Group and their partners for their pioneering work! **Ignite Power is now the leading off-grid solar provider in Mozambique** 2023 has definitely been a very good year for us. After empowering 50,000 households across #mozambique with solar home systems, impacting the lives of over 250,000 individuals directly, Ignite Power has emerged as the leading off-grid solar provider in the country. This is only the beginning; over 17 million people in Mozambique still lack access to electricity, and the urgency to bridge this gap is immense. As more and more governments, DFIs, and financiers conclude that off-grid solar systems are the most cost-effective, sustainable, and scalable solution for large-scale rural electrification, we are excited to extend our affordable services to more geographies and communities. The great news is followed by another announcement - we are expanding our collaboration with Social Investment Managers & Advisors (SIMA Funds), a partnership aimed at reaching more underserved communities with clean and affordable energy solutions. This means that millions more across Mozambique will gain access to reliable and sustainable energy for the very first time. 2023 was Ignite Power's best year yet. I can't wait to see what 2024 has in store. Zayed Sustainability Prize Power Africa SNV
