Let's knit a better world 🌎 Move the needles, one stitch at time! Brooknit Bonneterie LLC - Knitter Philosopher Teacher Designer | Entrepreneur | Knitting Kits, Knitwear, Learning

Knitting uses both my creativity and my scientific brain. For decades, there has been an opposition between creativity and math. Between the kids who are good at math and those who can draw... Between the students loving poetry and those who enjoy physics... THE END... 🔚 We all have inside of us a good balance of likes, dislikes, talents, and weaknesses. Some of them might even feel inconsistent. I liked math, biology, history, and literature. I hated physics and technology. I am crafty, but I cannot draw... I like music, but I'm not a musician... With knitting, you may combine two "incompatible" skills: math and creativity. How is that? 𝐺𝑙𝑎𝑑 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑎𝑠𝑘! From an initial idea to a kit ready to go, there are several iterations of Creativity and Math. 👩🎨 I draw (badly) and mock the different sections and identify how it could look like. 🧮 I have to decide on measurements and derive the number of stitches. 👩🎨 I pick on the type of texture, and sections I want. Back 🧮 I draft a prototype pattern and I test it. 👩🎨 I knit the prototype and adjust the styles and sections to what looks better... 🧮 I write the pattern and decode the texture into the instructions. 👩🎨 I test it again, one stitch at a time, one row after the next. 🧮 I ensure I give all instructions, tips, and access to the help. When you follow a pattern, whether you like math or don't, you are using a code. When I write a pattern, I write a code, K (Knit) and P (Purl) combinations. At Brooknit Bonneterie LLC, we have beginners in mind, always. And people who don't like math and codes and want to feel the creative side! And those of you who like having clear instructions to reach a specific result! Our patterns are written "in plain English", with the steps to follow for special moves. Each move, piece of code, has a video tutorial that you can watch and learn from. And if you are "doing it like in the video", but it's not working, reach out! 𝑇𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝑚𝑒 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡'𝑠 𝑤𝑟𝑜𝑛𝑔, 𝑑𝑒𝑎𝑟! 📲 Send me a video of what you are doing, and I'll pin-point what to modify. 👩🏼💻 Join a knitting clinic and ask for help. ☎️ Book a 1-1 private session if you need assistance in several aspects. So, math lovers or not, everyone is up for the challenge. 🧶 Let's knit a better world 🌎 Move the needles, one stitch at a time! PS1: Music is a code, cooking is a code... there is math everywhere, but you can ignore it if that's not your thing! PS2: Did you know that spies used knitting to conceal secret messages and pass information? Binary coding at its finest... --- Below samples of coding pieces, I'll come back to it soon ---

J’adore cette idée. Math is everywhere. C’est vrai.
