Here's something different for #ToiletTuesday. Animals also need a place to go... This pretty swanky spot is at the Austin International Airport. It's located inside the building, because once you are through security there's no going back! A room like this is essential for people with service animals, although I'd have a hard time doing the "poop and scoop" because of the lip on the front side of the "grass." Have you ever seen an area like this? Tell us about it! Philadelphia has a similar dog spot but it’s in the terminal near a window. I’m glad airports are thinking of pets and service animals needs as it’s a pain to walk them outside and there is usually zero grassy areas at the terminal

I’ve checked out every single one of those dog relief areas at several airports throughout the US. My service dog simply refuses to use them. It smells like a pack of rabid coyotes used the facilities and the smell just festered.

One concern is that there typically is only one SARA (Service Animal Relief Area) per airport, which could mean a long travel time to get to it, depending on which concourse it’s in…

All handicap bathrooms should consider this. Especially TTC, Go, YRT, ETC 😀

Wow! Forward thinking. A good group of people must have come together to be willing to use square footage for a population that is (also) too often forgotten about related to their everyday needs. It all starts with a a good idea from good people.

Recently consulted on one at a new terminal at SeaTac where a portion of the grass platform was raised 15” and was only 24”deep to allow wheelchair users access to clean up.
