Religious tourism is a key part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, with plans to enhance the experience and increase the number of pilgrims. The country is investing in infrastructure and services to maintain its role in the Islamic world and drive economic growth. Hajj contributes approximately $10 to $12 billion annually to Saudi Arabia's economy, with estimates suggesting 2-3% of the national GDP. The government aims to increase the number of Umrah pilgrims to 30 million annually by 2030, with religious tourism expected to generate up to $150 billion annually by that year.
