One of the crucial aspects of the Montessori method establishes that children should not be considered “miniature adults,” but rather they are unique in their stage of development and self-managers of their own “path” of learning. Therefore, it is significant to note that the repercussions of positive or negative influence in the early stages of development will have consequences on the future behavior of students. This stage was so important for María Montessori that she affirms that “The child is the most important part of the adult's life,” because it is the child who, from an early stage, “builds” the adult of tomorrow and those influences are of such a level of sensitivity that they must be treated with the utmost care, due to the influence on the formation of the future adult to come. We can establish in this context that the application of criticism, as well as praise, within the teaching classrooms or outside them (such as the child's social or family environment) must have a determining influence on his or her subsequent development. The next question is obvious, what role is established for discipline within the Montessori method? Like any teaching method that is carried out on the individual, but has an impact on society, here the limit is the common good. May the good practices of our classes be the ideal support for the children who are in our classes today, the virtues and potential of their abilities will grow to adulthood naturally and will be of benefit to the society of tomorrow. May our behavior favor praise, and motivation and always keep in mind the profound impact of our words and actions on the lives of students. To finish these lines, I remember with special interest the biblical words that, full of enormous wisdom, remind me of the value of constructive words and their influence on others, “A golden apple with silver figures, is the word said as it should.” Proverbs 25:11 #montessori #montessorieducation #teaching #education #discipline

Imagine mastering the art of spelling and writing before even needing to hold a pencil. How transformative could that be for education…? Oh wait—this method already exists! A Montessori educational journey underscores the benefit of using innovative materials, like the moveable alphabet, which allow children as young as 2 1/2 to spell with confidence and curiosity. Not only is this bypassing traditional learning hurdles with grace and enthusiasm, but it lays a foundational approach to learning through an emphasis on self-directed activity and collaborative play. Witnessing my daughter spell with such ease and excitement, I can’t help but wonder👇🏼 🧐 How far ahead would our kids be if we embraced such intuitive learning methods from the start? ——————————— [PICTURED]: My daughter Kinga, 5, writing the names of numbers using the moveable alphabet. How to Use the Montessori Sensorial Activities Resource This #resource is designed to give teachers a clear set of practical activities to support young learners in their sensorial development. Montessori sensorial materials are fundamental to helping children refine their senses and form the foundation for complex cognitive skills, including classification, concentration, and comparison. Each activity has been carefully selected to cover different sensorial areas—visual, tactile, auditory, and more—ensuring a balanced sensory exploration. Teachers can incorporate these activities into their daily or weekly planning, rotating materials to maintain the child’s interest and to ensure a broad exposure to different sensorial inputs. You can present these activities individually or as part of group lessons, adapting them to suit the developmental stage of each child. This guide can be used as a quick reference for ideas and inspiration to enrich your Montessori environment and foster deeper sensory awareness in your students. #MontessoriMagic #SensorialLearning #HandsOnLearning #MontessoriAtHome #ChildLedLearning #LearningThroughPlay #EarlyChildhoodEducation #MontessoriMaterials #LearningIsFun #MontessoriClassroom #TeachTheMontessoriWay #MontessoriMoments #IndependentLearners #MontessoriKids #MindfulTeaching When presenting an activity, it’s essential to follow the Montessori method of clear, minimal instruction, allowing the child to explore the material independently after a demonstration. #discover_with_avonshire Let's debunk this common misconception about Montessori education. 😊 Myth #1: “Montessori is a chaotic “free for all” with little to no teacher interaction and no rules.” From an outside perspective, Montessori classrooms may appear chaotic. However, this perception doesn't capture the intentional design and purpose behind Montessori education. Here's the truth: 1. Carefully Prepared Environments: Montessori classrooms are meticulously prepared environments. They contain specific materials arranged to meet children's needs. These materials are designed to foster independence, concentration, and exploration. 2. Freedom Within Boundaries: Students have the freedom to choose their activities. Under the watchful eye of Montessori-certified teachers, they explore works that interest them. Clear boundaries exist, ensuring respectful behavior and community harmony. 3. Teacher Guidance: Montessori teachers receive specialized training to create these environments. They observe, guide, and intervene when necessary. Their role is to facilitate learning, not dictate it. 4. Self-Discipline: Children learn self-discipline through freedom within limits. Disruptive behavior is redirected, fostering a sense of responsibility and respect. Remember, Montessori classrooms prioritize individualized learning, respect, and intrinsic motivation. It's far from chaotic—it's purposeful and empowering! 🌟 #montessori_uk #MontessoriEducation #MontessoriMythes #abc

During our Montessori mathematics training last Saturday, I asked the educators how they felt about mathematics when they were in school. The responses were a mix of frustration and fond memories. Some educators shared that their teachers’ attitudes made mathematics seem difficult and intimidating. One even mentioned that their teachers would insult students who didn’t understand concepts quickly, making the subject even more daunting. Another educator joked that it felt like all mathematics teachers were "wicked." Chai!😂 However, there were also positive stories. One educator recalled a kind and approachable teacher in secondary school whose excellent teaching style made mathematics much easier to understand. This experience helped her realise that mathematics was not as hard as she initially thought. One educator shared that she has always loved mathematics and was naturally good at it, and she still enjoys solving mathematics problems to date. What do you think? In the end, we discussed how laying a solid foundation in mathematics during the early years of a child can make it fun and easy. The Montessori approach does exactly that. It makes mathematics hands-on and guides the child from concrete understanding to abstract thinking. With Montessori, mathematics does not have to be boring. It is a simple and engaging way to help the child learn. If you want to build a love for mathematics in children, use the Montessori method. ...uncovering the child's learning potential Much Love❤️ 😍 💖 Ijeoma Edith Opah The Montessori Queen #thepinenest #thepinenestmontessoricentre #Montessori #authenticmontessoritraining #montessoritrainer #montessoriconsulting #montessorieducation #montessorilearning #montessorimathematics

#discover_with_avonshire 🌟 "Unlocking the Magic of Montessori: Structure and Freedom"🌟 🔍 Myth: Montessori lacks structure. 🌱 Reality: Montessori classrooms thrive on structure and order! 📚 The Montessori Blueprint: 1. Purposeful Arrangement: Montessori teachers meticulously organize the classroom. Each section represents different subject areas, and materials are thoughtfully arranged on shelves according to their sequence and difficulty. This visual progression empowers students to track their growth and make informed choices. 2. Freedom Within Boundaries: Students have the autonomy to choose their activities. However, this freedom operates within clear parameters. Montessori educators set expectations that respect individual decisions while ensuring harmony within the classroom community. 3. Methodical Lessons: Teachers provide methodical lessons, guiding students toward mastery. These lessons lay the foundation for independent exploration, allowing each child to learn at their own pace. 4. Individualized Learning:The balance between structure and freedom promotes personalized learning. Students engage with materials that resonate with their interests, fostering a love for learning and skill development. ✨️The Montessori Magic: When structure meets choice, children flourish. Let's celebrate the harmonious dance of structure and freedom in Montessori classrooms! 🎉 #MontessoriMagic #StructuredLearning #EmpoweredExploration #Montessori_uk #abc

Reading about this: #Montessori - A Tribute To Maria And Her Method. Maria Montessori, a renowned educator, revolutionized the field of education with her unique approach that emphasizes independence, self-directed learning, and hands-on experiences. Her method has gained popularity worldwide and continues to shape the way children learn and develop. One of the key principles of the Montessori approach is the belief in the innate curiosity and abilities of children. Instead of traditional teaching methods, which often involve rote memorization and standardized testing, Montessori classrooms provide a rich learning environment where children can explore and discover at their own pace. Research has shown that students who have experienced the Montessori method tend to display higher levels of creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. By allowing children to take control of their learning process, Montessori education nurtures a sense of independence and self-confidence that is invaluable in today's rapidly changing world. In addition to academic subjects, Montessori schools also place a strong emphasis on practical life skills and social development. Children learn to collaborate, communicate effectively, and respect others, creating a well-rounded educational experience that prepares them for success in all areas of life. As we continue to recognize the impact of Maria Montessori and her innovative approach to education, it is clear that her legacy will endure for generations to come. Through her dedication to creating a nurturing and empowering learning environment, she has truly left a lasting mark on the world of education. #education #FrizeMedia - https://lnkd.in/dZrsuyP7 #montessorieducation #alternativeeducation #earlyeducation #educationpoliciesandregulations #teachingmethodsandpedagogy #teachersandschoolemployees #educationpoliciesandregulations #educationsystemsandreforms #teaching #familyandrelationships #selfhelp #childdevelopment #societyandculture #lessons #scienceandenvironment #socialsciences #philosophy @Charlesfrize #biztips #OnlineMarketinginEurope #OnlineMarketingGhana #AdvertisingSpecialist #Marketing #DigitalMarketingServices #businesstips #marketingstrategy #Montessori - A Tribute To Maria Montessori And Her Innovative Educational Methodology #education #learning #FrizeMedia https://buff.ly/4e22DL8

CONCERNS ABOUT SELECTING APPROPRIATE MATERIALS Have you ever felt overwhelmed picking the appropriate Montessori materials? Trust me, I have been there. Years ago, some school owners and head teachers requested I send the Montessori materials list. I asked them, "Which age group are we talking about, 0-3 years, 3-6 years, 6 -9 years or 6-12 years?" And they were like, send everything. Haba everything! I found out they had no idea about the Montessori approach. When selecting materials, it is essential to understand the Montessori approach. The right thing, first and foremost, familiarize yourself with the Montessori method. It is not just about materials. Take the time to understand the principles behind Montessori education. Now, when it comes to creating a list of materials, it is crucial to clarify the age group. Are you looking for materials for 0-3 years, 3-6 years, 6-9 years or 9-12 years? Each age group has specific needs and developmental milestones, so it is crucial to tailor your materials accordingly. Surprisingly, some decision-makers and teachers may not have a clear understanding of the Montessori approach. It is essential to bridge this gap. Ensure your team understands the purpose and use of Montessori materials with training sessions. Train yourself as a school owner and your staff so you are not just guessing. After all, we won't want to end up with materials that do not make sense, right? My advice, before you hit that 'order' button, take time to understand the Montessori approach. It will help you to know the materials to buy and to manage your budget effectively. ...uncovering the child's learning potential Much Love❤️ 😍 💖 Ijeoma Edith Opah The Montessori Queen #thepinenest #authenticmontessori #Montessori #montessorimaterials

My discipline book has been reviewed by Booklife: Plot/Idea: Cushman writes to a target audience she clearly defines from the beginning, focusing on re-establishing the foundations of the Montessori method in education. The core of her writing involves training parents, caregivers, and educators to use discipline effectively against the backdrop of Montessori fundamentals. Prose: Cushman writes in direct, practical language that is aimed at increasing awareness of Montessori methods as well as gently confronting trends that inhibit children’s development of self-discipline and self-respect. Originality: The distinction of Cushman’s work is in her carefully purposed pursuit of true Montessori methods, paired with problem-solving strategies for contemporary readers. Character/Execution: In addressing the need for loving but structured discipline, Cushman covers what she sees as contemporary trends that undermine parents, teachers, and other caregivers when interacting with youth. The narrative delivers a wealth of information to readers with specific techniques to apply in a variety of situations. https://lnkd.in/gM8Vgwu8

Check out what others are saying about our "Positive Discipline in the Montessori Classroom" professional development course: "This course is a great way to gain practical strategies that can be applied in the Montessori classroom. It builds very well onto similar training that I have received, but includes actual strategies that can be used to help facilitate self regulation for students. I especially appreciated that the assessment process was designed for subjective applications of these strategies, rather than simple memorization and regurgitation of the material." Enroll today!
