This past Wednesday, I had the opportunity to attend LinkedIn’s first Talent Awards ceremony in the U.S. It was a huge honor to be a nominee in the Best Talent Voices category and be part of the celebration. I woke up that morning feeling a dose of imposter syndrome. I thought to myself, how could my name even be in the same category as Susan David, Ph.D., an author & TED Speaker and winner of the Talent Advocate award (congrats Susan! 🎉 you deserve it!! I love what you do here for the community!). Then I immediately took a moment and asked myself…. “Why do we continue to secound guess ourselves?!” We get to the final stages of interviews, or we receive recognition, and we get into a stage of analysis paralysis and question if we are even qualified to be here. I snapped myself out of it and said to myself… ➡️ I AM DAM PROUD! ➡️ I’m proud of the work that I’ve done this past year and a half. ➡️ I’m proud that my work on LinkedIn is being recognized. ➡️ I’m proud that I was able to receive this nomination by staying true to myself. ➡️ I’m proud that LinkedIn recognized thought leaders from diverse backgrounds. For once in a long time, I was finally present with my success. For those people feeling a little dose of imposter syndrome during the final stages of interviews… My advice to you is never to secound guess your abilities and experience. You’re there for a reason! be present with what's in front of you and celebrate the fact that you made it to that stage!
