#focus - What do we focus or need to focus on to have an #effective #progressive company? The devil is in the detail. The other day I met with a person who told me a story of a person playing poker and this person kept winning due to "sleight of hand". Everyone around the table was focused on their hand and did not see how this person won more than 50% of the time. It wasn't until they were able to watch what this person was doing on a video camera that they realized they had a cheat In Proverbs it is said "that every king needs seven advisors" Why is this? The simple reason is only 2% of the world's population is effective and efficient at multitasking. It is impossible to focus 100% on all aspects of a business. Therefore the 7 advisors have knowledge of what to look for and the outcomes that can be delivered. One of the outcomes of the 2% statistic is 24% of #productive #time is lost trying to find missing tools or parts etc. The #solution: for SME owners is to find and engage with an advisor/s who has "knowledge" of the processes and systems that have been adopted within the business. Then you will not have challenges of "sleight of hand" due to the inefficiencies and deviations from the norm within your company. Business owners mighty start winning a few hands!
