October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Pine Bluff Arsenal #AmericasArsenal Family Advocacy Program seeks to raise awareness and provide support to those who are victims of domestic violence. This year, there are two campaign themes: “What’s Inside Matters” and “Pause”. “What’s Inside Matters” speaks to survivors of abuse or those who notice risk factors for harmful behaviors by their partner. “Pause” speaks to those who recognize their engagement in potentially harmful behavior toward their partner and seek help. Since the development of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in 1987, a movement has sparked not only raising awareness and prevention but also providing immense support to victims of domestic violence. Those who experience domestic violence should not face it alone and know about the resources available to them. Domestic violence can happen to anyone, anytime. We are committed to the safety and well-being of our military community. We must remember that domestic violence is not only a local problem, but a global problem. Together, let us unite by breaking the silence to end domestic violence! #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth

💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜 We are honored to support our incredible clients on the front lines of addressing domestic violence. Organizations like the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Prudence Crandall Center, Inc., Interval House, Susan B. Anthony Project, and Women's Resource Center work tirelessly to help survivors escape abuse. DV organizations provide critical resources like emergency shelter, legal advocacy, counseling, and long-term support to help survivors rebuild their lives. However, many of these life-saving programs are at risk due to impending major cuts to VOCA (Victims of Crime Act) funding. Now, more than ever, these organizations need our support to continue their essential work with survivors. Domestic violence impacts individuals and families across every community. Let’s raise awareness, advocate for survivors, and push for the funding and resources needed to break the cycle of abuse. #DVAM2024 #EndDV #SupportSurvivors #NonprofitImpact #BreakTheCycle

🌍 Addressing Domestic Violence: A Call to Action Recently, I received a heartfelt message from Hoor-ul-ain Ahmed and Aleeha Amir, seeking my support for their project on domestic violence. Their initiative reminded me of the importance of raising awareness and advocating for change on this critical issue. Domestic violence is a pervasive problem affecting countless individuals, often going unnoticed. It's our collective responsibility to bring this issue to the forefront and work towards solutions. Here are a few points to consider: Awareness Saves Lives: Understanding the signs and impact of domestic violence is the first step towards prevention and support. Education and Empowerment: Providing resources and support systems can empower victims to seek help and break free from abusive environments. Community Engagement: It’s crucial for all of us to engage in conversations and initiatives that address domestic violence and provide aid to those affected. I encourage everyone to reflect on this issue and think about how we can contribute to the solution. Thank you, Hoor-ul-ain and Aleeha, for your dedication to this cause and for inspiring others to stand against domestic violence. Together, we can create a safer world! #DomesticViolence #Awareness #Advocacy #Empowerment #SocialImpact #TogetherForChange

Day 9: 16Days Of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Today, I'm inspired by Oluwatobi Raji's story of resilience and advocacy against gender-based violence. Despite experiencing multiple counts of rape and abuse, Oluwatobi found her voice and is now a leading advocate for child safety and gender-based violence. Her story highlights the importance of speaking up and seeking help. Silence and cover-up can exacerbate abuse, while speaking out can lead to healing and justice. Oluwatobi's journey shows that with the right support and resources, survivors of GBV can heal and become powerful advocates for change. Today let's ensure to stop the victimization of survivors of GBV and support them instead so that, they can be free. #EndGBV #16DaysOfActivism #FAMagainstGBV #FemaleandMore

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, during this month it’s vital that we all take time to recognize the signs and impacts of domestic violence in our communities. This issue affects people across all backgrounds, and too often. 2.1 million people aged 16 years and over (1.4 million women and 751,000 men) experienced domestic abuse in the year ending March 2023. I myself am very passionate about raising awareness on this topic. Its something I have taken upon myself to educate myself further. It’s important to have open conversations, provide resources, and foster environments where victims can seek help without fear or judgment. If you or someone you know needs support, please reach out to trusted resources like the National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233) or local advocacy groups. We each have a role to play in ending domestic violence. Let’s be part of the solution 💜 #DVAM #DomesticViolenceAwareness #SupportSurvivors
