IT'S UP TO US... Today is the day we can make change. Today is the day we can stand up and do what we believe is right. Today is the day we exercise our right to vote. As a woman, I feel particularly strongly about exercising my right to vote, as it was so hard fought for. All women were finally given the right to vote in 1928, with many women having been given the right 10 years earlier, at the end of WWI. In terms of our history, that's not very long ago when you think about it. If you're anything like me, you might be undecided who to vote for due to the widespread lack of trust across the country in what goes on at Westminster. So, my view is to vote based on who you think will look after your interests locally, as that's where you're likely to see the biggest impact. Take the opportunity to read their leaflets, look at their websites and policies, check out their social media and see what they actually stand for. That's what I've been doing the last couple of weeks to ensure I can use my vote productively. I particularly like the advice I saw my friend Angharad Boyson post this morning on another platform: "think of the most vulnerable person you know and vote in their best interests!". This, absolutely this!! Please use your vote today, no matter what colour you're voting for. The more people that vote the more accurate our representation will be, at least in theory, so make your voice heard today! #GE2024 #election #vote

The 19th Amendment, passed in 1920, was a victory that made it possible for women to have a voice in decision-making in this country. However, due to discriminatory voting laws, it wasn't until the 20th century that minority women were finally included. Due to this long fight, women's right to vote is crucial for shaping policies that affect our lives. Every vote matters, and you can help make a difference for the future generation. Unite together and make your impact for meaningful change. For more information on voting, go to: https://lnkd.in/dR85dZQx.
