Giving Candidates a Second Chance! Looking back on my time in recruitment, I've learned that people change as they get older and gain more experience. Recently, I had a situation where a candidate had caused some issues a few years back. Now, they're back in the job market with more real world know how. It got me thinking about the importance of giving candidates another shot 💭 We've all messed up when we were starting out in our careers. Over time, we learn and grow, and it's essential to recognise that. Even though past experiences might make us sceptical, I believe in giving most people a second chance. As young professionals, we may not always understand the impact of our actions, but with time, we learn valuable lessons. By offering opportunities for growth and improvement, we contribute to a culture that values personal development. So, did I consider giving this candidate another try? I sure did 😊🙌🏼 People change, learn, and adapt. By giving them another chance, we acknowledge the power of experience and create a culture of understanding and support. Appreciate growth, be open to second chances, and recognise that we're all on a journey of getting better 🙏🏼 Have you ever given someone a second chance, and how did it turn out? I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences. #Hiring #CareerGrowth #LearnAndGrow #SecondChances

The job market is increasingly unforgiving for newcomers. New graduates and career switchers face a daunting paradox: Entry-level positions requiring years of experience. It's time to rethink how we hire and nurture talent. This needs to change. Here’s how we can create a more inclusive and growth-oriented job market: • Remove unnecessary experience barriers for true entry-level roles. • Empower new hires with challenging, real-world projects from day one. • Pair junior talent with experienced mentors to foster learning and guidance. • Establish clear, transparent pathways for career advancement. • Value drive, creativity, and adaptability as much as formal credentials. Let’s give new professionals the opportunity they deserve. Everyone deserves a chance to prove their potential. Let’s change this. Let’s make a difference. #CareerGrowth #EntryLevelTalent #FutureOfWork

Looking back, one of the best decisions I made as a 2nd-year undergrad was to surround myself with seniors and professionals from the industry. Their guidance helped me navigate the early steps of my career with clarity and focus. Here’s what worked for me (and might can work for you too): 1️⃣ I created a list of opportunities tailored for 2nd and 3rd-year students—especially those encouraging female participation. Opinions on diversity hiring aside, I believe if an opportunity comes your way, you should grab it! 2️⃣ Subscribed to career portals of my target companies—this ensured I never missed a single opening. 3️⃣ Connected with seniors and professionals from these organizations on LinkedIn to gain insights into their hiring process, learn about openings, and ask for referrals. 4️⃣ Practiced patience and persistence while balancing my goals with self-care. Timing is key, and so is your health(I neglected it, you should not!) One key lesson: Success doesn’t follow the same timeline for everyone. Some achieve their goals early, while others take more time. The secret? Already told by many nothing new: "Stay consistent, keep the faith, and know exactly what you want and how to achieve it💪" If you’re in the early stages of your journey, start building your network, prepare smartly, and keep moving forward. Your time will come! P.S. The image is of my display board from my 2nd year—my constant reminder to stay focused! #hiring #opportunity #womenintech #jobopening #jobhunting

Are you a generalist or a specialist? 🤔 When it comes to our career paths, many of us tend to lean towards one of these two categories. But have you ever considered the benefits of being a generalist before becoming a specialist? Starting our careers as generalists can be immensely valuable. By exploring a variety of profiles and roles, we open ourselves up to new experiences and opportunities for growth. It allows us to discover what truly resonates with us and where we want to focus our expertise. Transitioning from a generalist to a specialist can be a natural progression as we gain more clarity on our career goals. However, diving straight into a specialized role without exploring other options may limit our potential for growth and self-discovery. Although, some people are really self aware to choose what role they really want to pursue. This post is not for them. This is especially important for individuals early in their careers, such as recent graduates or those with limited experience. In my opinion, embracing a generalist approach initially can help pave the way for a more fulfilling and successful career journey. Remember, the journey from generalist to specialist is a personal one, and taking the time to explore different paths can lead to a more fulfilling and purpose-driven career. #CareerAdvice #GeneralistVsSpecialist #CareerGrowth

As the year-end draws frighteningly close, it might be tempting to ease off the pedal, but let's stay the course. Many talented candidates thrive on having a couple of months' notice for a January start. This extra time ensures a smoother transition and minimises stress for everyone involved. In my experience, hiring during these final months can yield outstanding results. January starters come back refreshed from the holidays, ready to dive in with vigor. Top talent is always seeking new opportunities, and by providing sufficient notice, we show respect for their current roles and help them make well-informed decisions. Let's capitalise on this chance to kick off the new year on a high note. Are you preparing for new hires or looking to explore fresh career opportunities? #CareerGrowth #HiringTips #NewYearNewStart
