Here are my 8 best guesses on the creator economy headed into 2024: 1. Top performers across the board will recognize an opportunity to make more money and have a much larger impact building their own brand & business than working for someone else. This will accelerate rapidly in 2024. 2. At the same time, many people who have been spinning their wheels as creators for a few years (and failing) will give up and ditch social media altogether for mental health improvement. 3. You'll see an acceleration of tech founders + "creator founders" work together to bring small SaaS products to their audience quickly, efficiently, and at a low cost. 4. Companies like Acquire will thrive as the people working together above (#3) look to flip businesses at a multiple. 5. Lots of viral gimmicks (infographics, Twitter visuals, irrelevant selfies) will fall out of favor as they becomes commodity content. Creators will be forced to stand out on the strength of their ideas. 6. Traditional publishing houses will continue to actively hunt creators with an audience and pay them large advances due to their ability to generate massive attention predictably. 7. Creators who have build large audiences on platforms that no longer reward them with impressions will leave and go to platforms that do. 8. AI content will bifurcate: Some people will use it to augment their ideas (potentially good) while others will use it in place of having any unique or interesting ideas of their own (definitely not good). Audiences won't be fooled. I'm sure I'll be right on some and wrong on others. #5 for sure. ❤️
Justin Welsh I think video will be more prevalent in the creator space. My prediction is most people will not use it because they don’t like doing it. Therefore by attrition the market will shrink and will leave those that are embracing new ideas and concepts to move forward with success.
I think more Indians will come out to rule in the creator's economy.
I support #5: a more intentional audience who's here for the things you mutually believe in is a beautiful thing to work towards building.
1. Most creators will be focused on growing their audience. 2. Creators will wear multiple hats: founders, fractional CXOs, and so on. 3. Creators become full-fledged media companies, spanning across channels. It all revolves around audience building, Justin.
Justin Welsh just getting started properly this year. Excited to see where we will be end of the year. Keep up the growth advice. 🚀
9. EI will become more important 10. Africa will have more impact Justin Welsh
I'm fascinated to see the eruption of one person businesses. Its going to be wild.
Justin Welsh Curious what makes you think that gimmicks will be replaced by strong ideas and not just more gimmicks

1yI wouldn't mind irrelevant selfies falling out of favor one bit, Justin.
