A District Metered Area (DMA) is a geographic area within a water distribution system where water usage is measured and monitored. DMAs help utilities: 1. Identify water loss and leaks 2. Optimize water pressure and flow 3. Improve water quality 4. Reduce energy consumption 5. Enhance customer service Key characteristics of DMAs: 1. Defined boundaries 2. Metered inflow and outflow 3. Pressure monitoring 4. Real-time data collection 5. Advanced analytics Benefits of DMAs: 1. Reduced water waste 2. Improved efficiency 3. Enhanced asset management 4. Better customer engagement 5. Data-driven decision-making DMAs are crucial for modern water management, enabling utilities to provide sustainable and equitable water services. How to Create DMAs by length shown below 👇

Sustainability in Construction 🌱 Sustainability is essential. Technical approvals, ATG, issued by the UBAtc assess not only the fitness for use of products, but also environmental aspects such as the content of recycled materials and renewable raw materials in construction products. 📖 The UBAtc has decided to integrate product information on circular economy into the technical approval texts. This initiative comprises the publication of the results of an assessment and independent certification of circular product characteristics by expert third parties in the construction industry. In this way, the UBAtc aims to strengthen confidence in circular product features within the construction sector and at the same time, through the established value of ATG, create a level playing field within the context of the circular economy and prevent so-called "greenwashing". 📕 You can consult the information sheet here: https://lnkd.in/eX5XiF-7 🌍 Using approved products contributes to the quality and sustainability of construction works. #UBAtc #ATG #Sustainability #EcoFriendly #GreenBuilding #LaConstructionDeDemain

MESD is thrilled to have organised the recent Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) workshop for our researchers! LCA is crucial as it evaluates the environmental impacts of a product or service throughout its entire life cycle—from raw material extraction to disposal. This comprehensive approach helps organisations identify opportunities to reduce their carbon footprint, improve resource efficiency, and promote sustainable practices. This initiative is particularly timely as the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has adopted guidelines for LCA under MEPC 81. These guidelines will be further discussed at ISWG-GHG 17 in September 2024, reinforcing the global commitment to sustainable maritime practices. During the workshop, our researchers delved into ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 standards, deepening their understanding of LCA methodologies and working on practical case studies. This training is part of MESD's LCA capability development plan to equip our team with the necessary skills to comprehend and analyse lifecycle environmental impacts in maritime. By integrating LCA into our processes, MESD is committed to driving innovation and ensuring that our solutions contribute to a greener, more sustainable future. #ammonia #port #maritimedecarbonisation #greenenergy #greenport #greenshipping #maritimeenergy #maritimeemission #sustainability #decarbonisation #ntusg #mesd
