The research role we play in supporting the Susan McKinnon Foundation is an area of work we are delighted to keep delivering, as it has such a clear national interest. Our founder John Scales will keep supporting the Foundation’s special initiative to acknowledge public leadership through the McKinnon Prize. If you're an introverted professional (like this girl 🙋♀️), and you want to become less socially awkward and averse to public gatherings, go to conferences. 💯 They're like big social experiments on how you handle making friends with complete strangers in a matter of a few days. 🙃 Some of my closest friends are those I met at work conferences, functions, and programs. And you learn some stuff, too. 🧐 #Conference #Introverts #Networking #PersonalDevelopment #ProfessionalDevelpment

The Office for Fair Trading, First Nations Advisory Unit (FNAU) and Blue Card Services recently attended the Queensland Indigenous Leadership Youth Program Pathways Showcase. This program supports young First Nations people in Queensland, aged 18 to 25, in developing and enhancing their leadership skills. On the final day of the event, our team engaged with participants to provide information about training, education and career pathways available within the department. The FNAU team greatly valued the opportunity to discuss how these young leaders can pursue careers within our department. “It is inspiring to see the enthusiasm and potential of this year’s participants as they take steps towards achieving their goals," said Jennie Toonen, Director, FNAU. Since its inception in 2004, this program has supported over 720 young First Nations leaders. We are proud to be involved in this initiative and look forward to the meaningful change these future leaders will bring to their communities.
