When Gimbel Automation was just starting out, I (like most entrepreneurs) thought that I could do it all. But after thousands of automated parts and a lot of growth, we were hitting the ceiling... over... and over... and... over again. When we started implementing EOS, it opened to my eyes at what we'd been doing an okay-ish job at all this time, but never been making a full-on effort to do: documenting "the process". To be fair, it took a long time for us to build up a sustainable product and customer base in addition to the consulting and turnkey automation work, but once we had "the recipe" of the business down, documenting EVERYTHING became a priority. Today, when I had one of our Senior Machinists ask me how to set up our custom-made Shrink-fit machine again, I was reminded -- document EVERYTHING!
