In the #hotel #industry, #buffet #breakfast services are often handled by interns, but recently it has become more difficult to find staff for this area, as well as for waitstaff in general 😕. The #monotony of the tasks, especially in F&B (Food & Beverage) departments, has negatively impacted motivation and productivity. To address this, I want to propose an idea that could bring fresh energy to hotels while improving team dynamics 💡. A rotation system could be implemented within the #F&B team, allowing kitchen and service staff to #switch #roles on a voluntary basis once or twice a week 🔄. Chefs could work in the service section, while waiters could spend time in the kitchen 🧑🍳👨💼. This would break the monotony for the staff, give them the opportunity to gain new experiences, and strengthen the connection between the kitchen and the service team 🤝. There are several benefits to this system 🌟. It would make the work environment more dynamic and help staff #develop #functional #thinking skills through different responsibilities 🧠. Furthermore, this change would enhance coordination between the kitchen and service teams, leading to a more #efficient #workflow 🚀. Employees would acquire new skills, contributing to their professional growth and providing them with a broader perspective 🌍. We have horrible service in hotel food and beverage outlets because we have rejects managing it. It has been one year, I have seen applications from local candidates who were supervisors and now thinks they can be a food and beverage manager. I have seen fresh graduates from hotel management school who thinks they should start their career in the hotel industry, at the very least as a restaurant manager. So where have the good ones gone? Many to Uniqlo for one... 👏👏 😅, even in Sungai Petani their service is top notch. Every guests is greeted with a smile AND eye contact 👏👏. Every request is followed up right up to the end when you end buying more Airism shirts than needed because the cashier was so friendly. In the past we were taught to wow the guests, but sadly today, and in the near future, I dont see anyone wowing the guests anymore. Just look at the quality of entry level local staffs and managers for hospitality today......and how many more we will lose to Zus, Uniqlo and many more independent hospitality businesses? Think about this, when TRX opened, how many good staffs that could have worked in hotels are working there now?

TRY AND ARGUE OTHERWISE ⚖️ …I firmly believe that any experience in hospitality will set you up for life. As I’ve mentioned before, hospitality can be both mentally and physically exhausting. That’s one side of the story, but the challenges stem from the high caliber of knowledge, skills, and life lessons you pick up every week working in the industry. Some key skills that are essential for success include: ➡️ Time management ➡️ Job delegation ➡️ Social skills ➡️ Attention to detail ➡️ Initiative These are just a drop in the ocean compared to the vast array of skills and characteristics required to be a valued team member—not just in hospitality, but in any industry. As the saying goes in every kitchen: “Every second counts.” No matter where life takes you after working in hospitality, some memories are unforgettable: the first annoyed customer you had to deal with, the first time the head chef shouted your name through the pass, or the overwhelming embarrassment of forgetting someone’s order. These experiences, although not always pleasant, have shaped me into who I am today. That’s why I’m convinced that working in hospitality prepares you for life like no other job. In hospitality, every second counts, and everything needs to be perfect. Marriot Hilton Hyatt Accor And so On five star hotel. They are good company lot of training. Only the big issue and indeed, is about the leaders. GM to his/her HOD. Lot of them are bad attitude. No motivation, selfish, feeling boss, Poor management. Like Felix and Alain. And iF the GM experience from front office, hosekeeping etch. no experience in the kitchen operation. They dont care and no respect in the kitchen. Like Staris only in FOH they care. They do what they want. They put banquet everywhere and buffet. Even in the garbage room they can put🤣🤣🤣 Manager also of restaurant, lot of not qualified manager restaurant. Only talk. In operation disaster and lazy. HR department must be aware of this behaviors of all GM and his HOD. Not only in low profile. HOD of HR move and observe to all department and ask the teammember if they happy to work. Important go to work is excitement, happy and energy. Why because if they HOD is a good leader they are happy to work. However if they leader is bad attitude and disaster, teammembers not happy and not good feel to work and stress all the time. So they find another job. So HR remove the spoiled tomato. This indeed in all department. Dirty politics and mafia. A good GM in the hotel, if he have experience in the kitchen . Same like my mentor Chef Bruno Legac. All bad leaders the BAD KARMA is come to you!!! Not now maybe soon!!! KARMA is real!!! So become a good leader🤣🤣🤣

Today, I’d like to share my experiences in the hospitality industry, where I’ve had the chance to work in various departments. From the front office to housekeeping, food & beverage (F&B), engineering, and security, each role has shaped my understanding of this dynamic industry. **Front Office** My journey started in the front office and which is my primary area, where I quickly understood how crucial first impressions are. This department is the main point of contact with guests, setting the tone for their entire stay. The fast-paced nature of the job taught me how to adapt quickly and communicate effectively. Here, being both empathetic and efficient is key to providing a smooth guest experience. **Housekeeping** When I moved to housekeeping, I realized that cleanliness and comfort are more than just appearances—they play a huge role in how satisfied guests are. The attention to detail, coordination, and teamwork required in this department are impressive and vital to ensuring guests have a pleasant stay. **Food & Beverage (F&B)** Working in F&B allowed me to explore creativity and precision. It's not just about serving food; it's about delivering an experience. This role taught me the importance of timing, presentation, and understanding different tastes. It's about creating memorable moments for guests. **Engineering** In engineering, I learned that keeping the property in good shape is just as important as guest service. This department focuses on preventive measures and solving problems to ensure everything runs smoothly around the clock. It's a critical part of keeping the entire hotel functioning well. **Security** Finally, my time in security showed me how essential safety and vigilance are. This department is the backbone of the hotel's peace of mind, for both guests and staff. Being able to stay calm under pressure and think critically is crucial here, ensuring a safe environment for everyone. Motivation and Passion Throughout these experiences, my passion for the hospitality industry has only grown. I’m truly happy in my profession and grateful for the opportunities it has given me to grow, both personally and professionally. My goal is to continue on this path, learning from every challenge, and inspiring others to do the same.
