As we prepare for the big day tomorrow, a shout-out to all my fellow election judges, and a call for others to join us in future elections. Worn out by increased polarization? Working the polls can be a welcome antidote. Pull your focus in locally and get recharged by working with neighbors from across the political spectrum who are all there to ensure a safe and secure election for ALL! Want to see democracy in action? Be part of helping voters exercise this most essential right/responsibility within our self-governing society. Want to understand the safeguards and checks and balances in place to ensure the integrity of our elections? See the care given to chain-of-custody, the necessity of election judges from both parties being present at essential checkpoints, and so much more! While election judges have ONE long day (or a few, in the case of early voting), a special shout-out to all the election officials and staff who put so much care into their work throughout the year to ensure we can all plug in and make Election Day as smooth as possible. Interested in being a poll worker in a future election?
