I strongly support the views in this article. An old saying ' Prevention is better than cure' yet relevant in all times. According to me, there is a need for certain guidelines or training for school teachers so that they can observe and proactively identify such children who are in need of any kind of help. After all, they are the ones with whom children spend most of their time in a day. Mobile addiction leading to aggression, gender confusion and many other concerns are on rise. Such issues need proactive approach. A complete roadmap to observe, identify and step in !

💥 💥 💥 About 1 year ago, one of the largest and worst data breach in Estonian history became public. Genetic testing company Asper Biogene's system was attacked and about 100 000 files with people's #personaldata, including highly sensitive #geneticdata and #healthdata, including information about hereditary diseases, were obtained. According to information disclosed earlier, this breach affected about 10,000 people from 57 countries. I personally know people who's entire families were affected by the breach and who were extremely disturbed that something like this could have ever happened. Today, the Estonian DPA announced that it has imposed a fine in the total amount of EUR 85,000 (!!!) in this case. This is only my first reaction, and perhaps I change my position when I know more, but considering the circumstances, I unfortunately have to say that such fine appears insignificant and potentially undermines the importance of data protection as a #fundamentalright in Estonia. Who is ever going to take data protection seriously even if some of the worst breaches result in such insignificant fines? As a reminder, according to the #GDPR, the fines imposed must be effective, proportionate and dissuasive. This is a legal requirement. I'm not convinced that the amount of the fine in this particular case meets that requirement. Following is the extract from the press release of the DPA: The first offence consists of inadequate #security measures for processing personal data. Asper Biogene OÜ's core business is the testing of hereditary diseases, the development of genetic tests and the provision of development services related to health data (including the provision of healthcare services), and thus processes health data on a large scale. For failing to ensure the security of processing of personal data in compliance with the requirements of the GDPR, the DPA imposed a fine of EUR 80,000. The second offence is the breach of the duty to avoid conflicts of interest in the appointment of a #DPO, and the duty to appoint a competent DPO. When appointing a DPO, it is important that the member of the management board or the manager of the institution is not at the same time a DPO, as there must be no conflict of interest when fulfilling the role of DPO, i.e. it must be possible to carry out his/her duties and tasks in an independent manner. The choice of the DPO must also be based on the complexity of the data processing or on whether it involves a large amount of special categories of personal data (e.g. health data) and the choice of the DPO accordingly. In this respect, the DPA imposed a fine of EUR 5,000. #AsperBiogene #dataprotection #privacy

A very concerning topic that cannot be overlooked! An article in Äripäev about employee exploitation emphasizes the need to pay great attention to labor relations. Representing the staffing company, we find it important to comment on this. Today, we spoke with our CEO Dmitri Burov about his thoughts on this matter. Dmitri emphasized that recently there has been a huge influx of careless one-day companies entering the labor market. We are compelled to warn all job seekers and partner companies and remind them how to prevent this unpleasant situation. To avoid collaborating with dishonest staffing companies, we recommend paying attention to the following points: 1. Conduct a thorough background check on the company: check annual reports, number of employees, tax payments, and average salary (this data is available at www.teatmik.ee (http://www.teatmik.ee/)). 2. Evaluate the company's reputation. Pay attention to reviews from other companies and employees, assess the company's website, presence on social networks, customer reviews and recommendations, and information about the team. 3. Ensure that a clear service agreement is concluded between your company and the staffing company. 4. Ensure that a correct contract is signed between the staffing company and each employee. These recommendations by Dmitri will help you to avoid unpleasant situations and take advantage of all the benefits of collaborating with labor staffing companies. Ma olen töötanud tööjõu rentimise valdkonnas alates 2016. aastast. Kogu selle aja jooksul ei meenu mulle juhtumeid, kus ettevõtted, kellega mul on olnud tihedad suhted, lubaksid endale sellist suhtumist töötajatega. Mul vedas, et selliseid firmasid ei ole kohanud. Eelmises ettevõttes juhtisin dokumentatsiooniosakonda, nii et ilma õigete dokumentideta ei saanud keegi isegi tööle minna, mis on minu meelest täiesti normaalne iga endast lugupidava ettevõtte jaoks. Muidu pole mul mingit soovi olla seal, kus seadust ei täideta. Meie agentuur tähendab töötaja ja ettevõtte vastastikust suhtlust. Kui me kohtleme oma töötajaid halvasti, siis need töötajad avaldavad negatiivset mõju ka meie klientidele ja tehastele. Minu arvates, ettevõtted kes selliselt käituvad, teevad endale halva maine. Sõbralik suhtumine toob alati kasu mõlemale poolele. Arvestades, et täna ma tegelen müügitööga ja suhtlen otse klientidega, ma ei soovi kuulda kaebusi enda või ettevõtte kohta, kellega ma koostööd teen. Ma valin alati ettevõtteid, kes suhtuvad töötajatega ausalt. Töö inimestega võib olla keeruline kuid minu arvates, on see alati huvitav. Very beautifully written. Does it reflect with you?:) Estonia celebrated it's Independence Day yesterday! My thoughts: In the space of rapid changes we seem to forget that nations are connected to their roots and ancestors by respecting reasonable traditions, the family creative time and care for each other despite the position neither political views. Nation should not be manifested through growth or fall. Growing bigger can be a natural process, going smaller as well. It is hard to accept the mindset of many nations where the part of nation manifesta is built on growing bigger or built on the time in the history where they were big and now longing back this time. Strength is in beneficial politics these days, but still, the real strength is inside us while celebrating the roots as human beings not as nation-minded first. Managing small and smart is sometimes not easy, though absolutely cool when you can know your president or prime minister through only 1 person mostly. Lovely it is to think about living side by side rather than consuming each other :). I'm happy to celebrate that we still live in relatively reasonable times, despite the ongoing conflicts around us.

Operating since 1954, it is currently undergoing a major transformation to replace fossil fuels with smart and flexible solutions that are largely based on renewable electricity: waste heat utilization, heat pumps, heat accumulators and electric boilers. Approximately 40 percent of district heating demand will be met by recycling emission-free waste heat from Microsoft's new data centers. Artificial intelligence optimizes the operations of the entire system. The solutions are modular and can be tailored according to local heat sources, be it waste heat or air.
Kaugküte ei ole halb. Tänane kaugküte on halb, kus puudub sisuline konkurents, toimub läbipaistmatu hinnastamine ja teenuse kvaliteet jääb paljude eestlaste jaoks kesiseks. Täna näevad kaugkütjad soojuspumpades müügimeeste vandenõud [LINK 1]. Kahekomponendilise hinna kehtestamisega kaugküttepiirkondades soovitakse inimesi survestada soojuspumpade paigaldamisest loobuma [LINK 2]. Äraspidisemat katset ühe turu moonutamiseks on raske leida, sest teenuse pakkujad ise sõdivad mugavuse, hinna ja kvaliteedi vastu. Elektrimüüjat saab valida, elektrit ise toota, elektritarbimist juhtida jne. Soojasektori elektrifitseerimine ja järgmise põlvkonna kaugküte tuleb ning see tuleb läbi elektrifitseerimise. Nope üle lahe: kui veel mõned aastad tagasi andsid elektriboilerid Soome kaugküttevõrkudes alla 100 GWh energiat, siis 2023 oli see number plahvatuslikult üle 700 GWh. Kaugkütte reformimine ei saa tähendada ainult kahekomponendilist hinda, vaid võiks viia meid ka edasi. Vastus on elektrifitseerimine. Euroopa majanduse elektrifitseerimisest saab ka uue energiavoliniku südameasi, tema esimeseks ülesandeks on «Elektrifitseerimise tegevuskava loomine». Küttesektor on seal kindlasti sees. When I first transitioned from being a case lawyer to a data security expert at Andmekaitse Inspektsioon | Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate, this was the first major case that landed on my desk. ⚖️ Countless hours of work and analysis went into reaching this decision.
