Arch's Women and Allies Employee Network recently hosted a webinar for employees during which Fabienne In-Albon, OLY, a former professional golfer and Olympic participant, shared insights on how to cultivate an athlete’s mindset for personal and professional development. Central to her message were four key pillars: clarity, courage, focus and resilience. These pillars serve as the bedrock for adjusting one’s mindset to achieve goals. Throughout the hour-long session, In-Albon asked thought-provoking questions designed to shift how we may perceive a current situation, turning obstacles into opportunities. “In the past, I gave every shot the chance to be the best of the day. Nowadays, I give every day the chance to be the best of the week. So, give every kind of change — and every decision — the chance to be the best of your life,” In-Albon said.

The theme for International Women’s Day this year is “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,” and I can’t help but feel a special gratitude for the many people who have invested in me, personally, and in my company Gagen MacDonald. Gagen MacDonald, a pioneering, human-focused consulting firm, has been on an incredible journey. We’ve shaped cultures, deepened employee engagement, and accelerated business outcomes through every type of change and transformation. From the largest M&A transactions to the most complex organizational shifts, we’ve been there, accelerating progress and guiding our clients toward positive change. It's incredibly special to now be part of APCO, another remarkable, woman-owned company. Next week, we celebrate our first anniversary. Together, we’re joining forces to bring even deeper stakeholder insights and expertise to organizations worldwide. Margery Kraus, Founder and Chairman of APCO, and I founded our companies upon similar values, and I dreamt for over a decade about the impact we could create by blending our expertise. Now, as Gagen MacDonald operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of APCO, two women-owned companies united, we’re ready to shape the world that lies ahead. This is a success story, but it shouldn’t be a unique one. We need more like it – and I know there are many more to come. A great infographic here. I particularly like the suggestion of a question we can use to be an active bystander and speak up when we notice microaggressions: “May I just check what you meant by that?” This enables you to open the conversation in a non-confrontational way, before explaining why the behaviour is not acceptable. #microaggressions #inclusion #bystander
