Every team has its ups and downs. Some days the energy is buzzing, while other days can feel stagnant, leaving everyone feeling stuck. Whether you're dealing with tight deadlines, stress, or a lull in creativity, one thing can help push through: brainstorming. But how can you ensure everyone’s voice is heard during a brainstorming session? Enter The Question Burst Method, an innovative approach developed by Hal Gregersen and Amy Edmondson. Instead of focusing on solutions, the team focuses on asking questions. That's right—just questions! Here’s how it works: 🔸 Present a problem to the group. 🔸 Encourage everyone to ask as many questions as possible—no answers, no judgments. 🔸 Write down every question. 🔸 After reviewing, you’ll often find that the questions themselves reveal the path forward. This method fosters psychological safety, opening up space for quieter team members to contribute, encouraging curiosity, and reducing fear of judgment. If your brainstorming sessions feel stale, why not switch things up? The Question Burst Method encourages innovation, collaboration, and fresh ideas—plus it ensures every voice in the room is valued. Give it a try and watch your team's creativity soar! #Leadership #Teamwork #Innovation #Brainstorming #PsychologicalSafety #QuestionBurstMethod #LeadershipChallenge #TheLeadershipChallenge

Brainstorming is a common and highly used technique in the US and in several western European teams, but it’s not always the best approach for everyone. In some cultures, sharing ideas in a group setting can feel uncomfortable or even counterproductive. As a project lead, it's crucial to understand each individual team member’s cultural background and experiences at the very beginning of any project. You need to know what you can do to help each individual share the best of their ideas. One idea to avoid typical brainstorming where everyone calls out what’s on their mind, is to have individuals write their ideas on post-its and then anonymously place them in a common location where others can read them, and only then discuss the team’s favourite idea. What techniques do you have for helping your team come up with “out-of-the-box” ideas? #CulturalIntelligence, #GlobalLeadership #ThrivingTeams #projects

Many teams face the challenge of disorganized ideas during brainstorming sessions. This often results in missed opportunities and confusion, making it difficult to capture everyone's input effectively. Imagine a team struggling to align on a project due to scattered thoughts and unclear priorities, leaving everyone feeling frustrated and unproductive. By adopting mind mapping techniques, we have transformed how we tackle projects. Our brainstorming sessions are now more structured and efficient. We've created a visual representation of ideas, making it easier to see connections, prioritize tasks, and develop comprehensive strategies together. Here are some steps that made this change possible: 1. Start with a central theme to focus discussions. 2. Encourage team members to branch out with keywords representing their thoughts. 3. Use colors and images to enhance creativity and memory retention. 4. Regularly review and refine the mind map for clarity and alignment. For anyone looking to improve brainstorming outcomes or project management, I recommend trying mind maps! They allow your team to visualize ideas and collaborate more effectively. Transforming how we share thoughts can lead to more cohesive and successful projects, ultimately boosting productivity and team morale. #MindMapping #Teamwork #ProjectManagement #Collaboration #MindfulThinking

𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 is simple. But not easy. My #1 hack for stronger team collaboration? ↳ Design thinking. Why? It allows your team to solve complex challenges faster and with greater impact. 7 𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺: ↳ Collaborate across functions for diverse perspectives. ↳ Start with empathy: understand the problem deeply. ↳ Reflect on lessons learned after every project. ↳ Use brainstorming to unlock creative ideas. ↳ Encourage testing and iterating. ↳ Stay user-focused throughout. ↳ Embrace quick failures. Design thinking can transform your team’s ability to navigate challenges. But it all starts from the top-down. A way to encourage and develop creative thinkers within teams is to foster a culture that values innovation and solutions-based meetings. It also helps to provide: - Access to diverse educational resources - Invite guest speakers to host workshops or coaching - Encourage brainstorming sessions - Create "call-out meetings" where team members can voice their thoughts without fear of criticism. #innovate #strategy #makeadifference #creative #culture #education #brainstorming #fear #criticism
