#carbon_nanotube Osaka Metro and Nagoya University started demonstration tests of organic thin-film solar cells using carbon nanotube electrodes (CNT-OPV). They say advantages of CNT-OPV compared to existing silicon-based solar panels are that CNT-OPV is lighter and more flexible, making it easier to install and more flexible in location. CNT-OPV is also transparent, so it can be used on windows, allowing light from both sides to be used to generate electricity. In their demonstration, they are using it for train windows. Denso<6902> is also participating in this research group, and in terms of the use of CNTs, this technology is essentially similar to the CNT heater technology that we saw few days ago, which suggests the direction that Denso is aiming for as an exit strategy for the use of CNTs. In this technology, CNT is used to make electric contact or electrode by broaden CNT thin film, if I understand correctly. But, ITO is also famous as transparent electrode material. I wonder their CNT transparent electrode technology has enough cost competitiveness against ITO, because the news releas don't have any commnet of the point. Previous methodologies have encountered problems because of the deteriorated crystallinity of the ferroelectric materials. We introduce an approach to control the relaxation time using two-dimensional (2D) materials while minimizing energy loss by using 2D/3D/2D heterostructures and preserving the crystallinity of ferroelectric 3D materials. Using this approach, we were able to achieve an energy density of 191.7 joules per cubic centimeter with an efficiency greater than 90%.
