It’s been over two months since I joined college and... Here are the Top 5 Lessons I’ve Learned ✨ ✏ 𝘽𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙟𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖 𝙢𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙡𝙮 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙗𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 ⚡ You can't master everything, but you can learn enough skills to reach an average level. That alone keeps you ahead of 99% of people, and that's slay ✏ 𝙆𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙡𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚 🔥 I'm still as positive and excited about my college life as I was before joining. Of course there will be few things which kicks you hard but Stay curious to explore stuff and have the flame to work towards your rough goals ✏ 𝙏𝙧𝙮𝙣𝙖 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙖𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 ☘️ Every day’s a new day, so enjoy every moment. Attend events, have fun meeting people, and don’t miss out on the fun while managing your academics. ✏ 𝘿𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙚! 👀 Don’t compare your preparation, intellect, or looks with others it’ll only lead to unrealistic frustration. Instead, focus on yourself, analyze, and work on how you can improve! ✏ 𝙄𝙜𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙙𝙪𝙢𝙗@𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨! ☕ They’ll show up, spit their piece of sh*t, and leave. 𝒀𝒆𝒉 𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒊 𝒕𝒐-𝒅𝒐 𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝒎𝒆 𝒌𝒂𝒃𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂 (This had been on my to-do list for a long time), my dad casually mentioned when I asked him, “Why pursue an MTech at 63?” At first, it didn’t seem like the obvious choice, but his reasoning was profound. After 39 years of serving in public office, he had accumulated vast knowledge and practical experience. However, his desire to give back to the next generation meant staying relevant with both practical insights and the latest academic advancements. So, he enrolled in an MTech program to bridge that gap. This made me reflect on how often people my age feel that mid-30s is too late to learn something new or take on fresh challenges. But if my dad’s journey has taught me anything, it’s this: Intent is what truly drives action. When you’re genuinely committed to something, you’ll make it happen—no matter your age, your life stage, or how busy you are. And speaking of life stages, it’s equally essential to cherish the one you’re in. Like my son, who recently discovered the joy of lounging on a bean bag, completely captivated by the idea that something so simple could bring so much happiness. "I am probably the dumbest girl in my batch" This is what I had always said to myself during my first few months at college. Only a few months back, you are the school topper, the head girl, all teachers love you like their own child. Suddenly, all of this love and sense of belongingness is gone as soon as you enter college. In college, pretty much everyone is the school topper. You are no longer the star kid, no one even bothers to know your name. You're lucky if the professor even looks in your direction. But that is the actual beauty of college life. I learned and came to terms with the following during my first year at LSR. 1. You often become a part of the crowd and come to peace with it. There is no harm in being a part of the crowd. You are not any more special than the person next to you. 2. You understand that you can not be the leader all the time. Leaders exist only because the team does. Someone else being the leader does not threaten you bore undermine your abilities. 3. Life isn't a competition or comparison game! Comparison will never allow you to be happy. It sucks away your happiness. Neither does it give you something valuable. 4. You learn to collaborate. Collaboration is above competition. You develop valuable connections that might even turn into friendships. 5. There is no one fixed way for success. Your batch mates have totally different aspirations, someone wants to climb up the corporate ladder, while the other wants to pursue their sports career. Everyone has got their own thing to do in their own way, so there is hardly any need for comparison. These are perhaps the most valuable learnings in my first year of college. Happy World Children's day! ✨ One of the many things I am grateful for from my Teach for India fellowship is how teaching fostered my self-awareness and allowed me to bring my personality type (ENFP) into the classroom. I named my 2 classrooms "The Campaigner" and "The Wonders Superhero". In "The Campaigner" class, students were perceived to be shy hesitant to express themselves. Their class motto became: "What we know we share, what we don't know we learn." On the other hand, the "Wonders Superhero" class was seen as more expressive (and a bit mischievous). Their class motto became: "With great power comes great responsibility." Reflecting on my journey, my experience working in Education over the past 7 years has had its share of ups and downs. The highs have ranged from mentoring first generation school students on science projects that won them a once-in-a-lifetime opportunities - to - securing large scale research implementation grants and successfully completing phases of complex "research to policy" projects. The highs have often broadened the horizon of "what's possible" & given fresh perspectives. Conversely, the lows have been challenging. Ranging from navigating management approaches that seemed disconnected from education's true purpose - to - facing the heartbreaking loss of a student to a road accident. The lows taught perseverance, and prioritization of what's probably most important in life. I often reckon this journey akin to hiking mountains - getting breathtaking views from the hill tops while also navigating the depth of the valleys. Each experience has contributed significantly to my growth as an educator and a person. Here's to embracing this journey through meaningful people, conversations and experiences.

Moving Beyond the Highlight Reel: Celebrating All Students Board exam results are out in India, and the highlight reels are overflowing with congratulations for the high scorers! While those achievements deserve a round of applause, what about the students who didn't reach the top marks? A student who scored an 80%, 60%, or even a 50% might have poured their heart and soul into their studies. The true measure of success lies not just in the grade, but also in the journey they took to get there. This is where family support becomes a powerful force. A loving family can significantly impact a child's personality and prepare them for tomorrow's challenges. Here's how family support shapes students of all scores: Emotional Stability: Knowing they have a support system provides a safety net, allowing them to face challenges with confidence. Resilience: Supportive families help their children learn from setbacks and bounce back stronger. Growth Mindset: Encouraging and positive reinforcement helps students believe in their ability to improve and learn from today. Goal Setting and Planning: Working with their family, students can develop realistic goals for the future. College is the last easiest phase of life. And I felt that... Recently I visited my alma mater Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, Delhi University during the fest season, after a year since graduation! It was an emotional rollercoaster filled with gratitude, nostalgia, and joy reconnecting with my beloved college, esteemed faculty, and vibrant juniors. Meeting with my professors was truly heartwarming. They have played an important role in shaping my academic and personal growth. Sharing experiences, offering advice to my juniors, and witnessing their enthusiasm reignited my passion for continuous self-improvement. Meeting familiar faces & reliving cherished memories, I was reminded of invaluable lessons that extend beyond the confines of classrooms. Here are some key takeaways: 1. Resilience The challenges faced during my college years taught me the importance of resilience in overcoming obstacles. 2. Continuous Learning The fest atmosphere reignited my passion for lifelong learning, emphasizing the importance of staying curious and adaptable in today's fast-paced world. 3. Some dreams take years to come true, and today, I’m living one that’s been a decade in the making. Some might say, "It’s just a graduation ceremony. Why call it a dream? Everyone graduates, and everyone gets one." But let me share my story with you—one filled with heartache, hope, and all the drama you need to truly understand why this moment means everything to me. When I was a kid, I was a huge fan of High School Musicals. As a ’90s kid, you’ll know what I’m talking about—if not, Google it. I watched the entire school celebrating their graduation day, and it fascinated me: the dress, the ceremony, the degree distribution, and the party. I wondered, When will I get to wear that robe and hat? Fast forward to my first graduation at Burdwan University. I was excited beyond words, ready to live my dream. But to my dismay, there was no ceremony. No robes, no celebrations. All my achievements felt incomplete, like the dream I’d nurtured for years had been snatched away. Too kiddish right? But it was a feeling of a teenage heart. I tried pursuing a master’s degree, motivated by both education and the hope of finally experiencing that iconic moment. But life had other plans—personal challenges and circumstances made it impossible. I felt defeated, aimless, and heartbroken. Then came the turning point—the hero of my life, my husband. With his tremendous support and encouragement, I gained the confidence to pursue an MBA. In 2022, I enrolled in one of the most reputed universities, Amity University Online. But the journey wasn’t easy. Balancing a full-time job with studies was challenging. However, when you have a team like Mia by Tanishq and part of an organization like Titan Company Limited, anything is possible. Today, 10 years after that heartbreak, here I am - standing tall in my black robe and hat, holding my MBA degree. It’s a moment I’ll cherish forever.
