In order to realize this integration, first, the authors develop a novel code-beamspace wideband signal model for uplink CD-NOMA in mmWave hybrid #massive #MIMO systems employing #single-#carrier (#SC) transmission. This study delves into the intricacies of 5G #New #Radio (#NR) signal propagation, and contrary to most existing literature, focuses on the 3.565 GHz commercial frequency band through extensive ground and airborne measurements. By assessing fundamental cellular network parameters such as #Channel #Power (#CP), #Field #Strength (#FS), #Path #Loss #Exponent (#PLE), and #Shadow #Fading #Amplitude (#SFA), the purpose of this investigation is to gain a verified and validated insight, in alignment with the 3GPP technical report, into the highly dynamic nature of 5G NR transmissions. This paper addresses #spectrum #sensing (#SS) in a #Cognitive #Radio #Ad #Hoc #Network (#CRAHN). The interconnections of the nodes are formed on #Dynamic #Spectrum #Access (#DSA) channels, such as #Television #White #Spaces (#TVWS), so the CRAHN can suffer from heterogeneous #Secondary #User (#SU) interference. The authors suggest that the idle time in IEEE 802.11s devices resulting from the employment of the #Network #Allocation #Vector (#NAV) and #Mesh #Coordination #Function (#MCF) be used for off-channel SS without causing any disruption to data transmission in the network. They perform #Markov #chain analysis to find the expected length of time of a sensing window. Beamsteering is considered one of the key enabling technologies for current 5G mobile communication systems and future 6G and beyond. Employing adaptable, highly directive, electronically steerable beams addresses the challenges of higher attenuation in millimeter wave frequencies and offers other sought-after perks, like spatial diversity. In our recently published article, my colleagues, professors, and I explore the biaxial beamsteering capabilities of a Butler matrix coupled with series-fed antenna arrays. We demonstrated these capabilities using a Butler matrix operating at the 60 GHz ISM band, a frequency range considered by the IEEE 802.11ad standard, known as WiGig. Still, the two-axis beamsteering approach can be extended to other frequency bands and applications. For instance, it may be of value when considering radar technology applied to Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which operate within the 24 GHz and the 79 GHz bands. Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) is a critical metric for assessing signal quality in 5G New Radio (NR) networks. As cellular technology evolves, increasing data throughput has been achieved by combining wider channel bandwidths with higher-order modulation schemes. However, these advancements also bring new challenges in accurately measuring EVM, particularly in 5G NR, where higher modulation orders and wider bandwidths are common.
