HOKA is one of those surprise partners in Indycar. Once again it is McLaren and Zak Brown, and the McLaren partnership team, delivering the surprise partner.
What is a running shoe brand doing in Indycar?
That was my first question when I saw the Arrow McLaren news about HOKA joining the teams partnership network.
First of all.
California brand HOKA is part of the Deckers Brands, a company delivering sales of $3,6 bn in 2023, compared to $3,15 bn in 2022, double-digit growth.
👉 Gros profit was $1,8 bn in 2023. So it is a solid very succsessfull company.
👉 HOKA went from $891 million in Net sales 2022 to $1,4 bn in 2023, so close to 60 % sales growth.
Could we see HOKA also in Formula 1?
Probably.
McLaren Racing Formula 1 footwear brand is K-Swiss at the moment. McLaren F1 have also Castore as partner, so basically two shoe brands, but HOKA, as a running shoe, could even fit in in that constellation.
Puma, also Giorgio Armani, a Scuderia Ferrari partner, have shoes, so quite many shoes in Formula 1.
Here are some of the shoe brands focusing only on shoes.
Italian P448, part of US Street Trend, is a VISA CashApp RB F1 partner and Athletic Propulsion Labs is part of the Oracle RedBull Racing network.
