Work is underway to transition our Economic Development Kotahitanga Board (EDKB) into an independent trust. This new model will unlock opportunities for growth as the Trust will be able to access investments Council can’t, such as co-investing in projects with businesses, research groups, property developers, Māori landowners, and central government. This in turn will reduce Council costs in the medium to long-term and help us better support our local businesses. With the Kāpiti Coast growing rapidly, this is the perfect time to take our economic development to the next level! The Trust will remain accountable to Council. There’s s still some details to work out, but we're excited about what this means for the future of our district's economy. Find out more about our new direction for economic development 👉 https://lnkd.in/ghsQni6w #Kapiti #KapitiCoast #LocalGovernmentNZ #GreaterWellington

WHY REAL ESTATE DUE DILLIGENCE MATTERS: A Case in Kasungu District I recently came across a situation where someone was looking to buy a farm in Kasungu District. The farm was advertised as being 200 hectares, but the buyer wanted to make sure everything was correct before going ahead with the purchase. This is where real estate due diligence comes in. After checking the details, it was found that the farm was only 150 hectares, not the 200 hectares stated in the documents. That’s a difference of 50 hectares! If this hadn’t been discovered, the buyer could have lost a lot of money. But that wasn’t all. It also turned out that the lease for the land had already expired, even though the documents didn’t show that clearly. Imagine how much trouble and stress this would have caused if it was discovered after payment had been made. This story shows just how important it is to check all the details before buying property. Due diligence isn’t just about looking at papers—it’s about making sure everything is correct and that there are no hidden surprises. It can save you from making a bad investment. By doing the right checks, the buyer avoided a big problem and can move forward with peace of mind, knowing they made a smart decision. #RealEstate #DueDiligence #PropertyInvestment #InvestSmart #RiskManagement #SmartInvesting #FarmAcquisition #DueDiligenceMatters #RealEstateAdvice #KasunguDistrict #ExpiredLease
