Kāpiti Coast District Council’s Post

Work is underway to transition our Economic Development Kotahitanga Board (EDKB) into an independent trust. This new model will unlock opportunities for growth as the Trust will be able to access investments Council can’t, such as co-investing in projects with businesses, research groups, property developers, Māori landowners, and central government. This in turn will reduce Council costs in the medium to long-term and help us better support our local businesses. With the Kāpiti Coast growing rapidly, this is the perfect time to take our economic development to the next level! The Trust will remain accountable to Council. There’s s still some details to work out, but we're excited about what this means for the future of our district's economy.
