These types of relationships are so critical in #edtech. This is another way that industry can better connect with academia.
Stukent's CEO, Jim Holm, met with Idaho’s Superintendent of Public Instruction, Debbie Critchfield, to discuss the future of education and how we can continue to equip students for success. As education evolves, it’s crucial that educators have the tools they need to prepare students for their future careers. Our passion for innovation drives everything we do, and through our work with Innovation Partners, we’re creating forward-thinking solutions to meet these needs. We’re excited to see the impact of these innovations in Idaho and beyond!

We've reported for EdWeek Market Brief on some of the biggest purchasing co-ops, and how they're trying to drive down costs and set shared expectations for #edtech companies. (The California EdTech JPA is one example.) In our latest step into the topic, we surveyed the nation's school district officials on what types of products -- both tech and non-tech, for classrooms and other needs -- they buy through co-ops. https://lnkd.in/evKaSU7F

The invention of the traffic light is often attributed to Clevelander and prolific inventor Garrett Morgan, who referred to himself as the "Black Edison." It had already been invented by the time of Morgan's involvement, but it was his innovations that had the greatest impact on safety and the traffic light as we know it today. The first traffic signal system was introduced in London in 1868, and that semaphore signal soon made its way to the United States. Several adaptations of this simple stop-and-go system appeared in the early twentieth century, and the nation's first electric signal was installed in Cleveland in 1914, with red ("stop") and green ("move") lights. After witnessing a collision at a problematic intersection in the early 1920s, Morgan recognized that drivers had no advance warning to stop with the current two-signal system. To solve the problem, he devised a T-shaped, three-signal system with an interim "warning" position, the ancestor of today's yellow light. Unlike those of his predecessors, Morgan's system stopped traffic in all directions to give drivers time to stop or move through the intersection, and allowed pedestrians to cross before traffic started moving again. Morgan patented his invention in 1923 and eventually sold the rights to the traffic light to General Electric. This is The Land of #Innovation. This is Cleveland. #BigIdeasBoldVentures #ThisIsCLE
