A bad manager is usually the cause of all problems. A manager determines: - who gets promoted - how much team works - how much delegation happens The team culture is a subset of the company culture set by the manager. 📌 The solution? → Leadership training _____ We first need to realise that leadership is something which needs to be learnt and studied. Most people assume that it's a set of inherent traits. Or they simply assume they are good leaders! (there's nothing to learn) If top management isn't bothered, the middle management won't be bothered. And that affects the bottom layer. ___ ✅ Best resources I know to learn leadership: 1. Developing the leader within you - John C Maxwell 2. The 22 irrefutable laws of leadership - John C Maxwell 3. Why leaders eat last? - Simon Sinek 4. The 7 habits of highly effective people - Steve Covey Have you had leadership training in your org? #leadership #manager #training

Is leadership innate, or can it be learned? The truth is, while some people may have natural leadership traits, many key skills, like communication, decision-making, and emotional intelligence, can absolutely be taught and developed through training, mentorship, and experience. Why Leadership Can Be Taught: 📌 Experience: Real-world challenges help leaders grow. 📌Skill Development: Leadership training can refine essential abilities. 📌Adaptability: Learning to adjust leadership styles is a teachable skill. 📌Theories & Frameworks: Understanding leadership models provides practical tools. Nelson Mandela’s leadership evolved through education, activism, and decades of experience, demonstrating that great leaders are shaped as much by learning as by natural talent. Leadership is a journey of continuous growth. While some traits may come naturally, anyone can develop the skills to lead effectively with the right mindset and dedication. True leaders are servants, dedicated to the growth, well-being, and spirit of their teams and communities. True leaders ignite leadership within others, providing the space, encouragement, and opportunity for growth, whether or not they receive recognition for it. This path requires significant sacrifices, impossible for those overly focused on themselves or their own interests. It's not merely about challenging the status quo for the sake of it, but rather about doing what's right, regardless of its impact on the status quo. Right is right, and wrong is wrong. We all possess that moral compass deep within us. As a leader, you stand for what is right. If your aim is service, recognize that you were born a leader; no amount of training can create one. Training may develop managers, but true leadership is innate, rooted in a mindset of service. #leadership #futurism #diversityandinclusion #service #careers

Leading People Means Leading Learning An important part of every leader’s role is to grow more leaders. This requires leaders to promote and encourage a learning culture in their teams/ organisation. When you visibly demonstrate your belief in learning as an essential leadership skill, you positively impact: · The generation of new ideas and solutions · The unearthing of new opportunities · The quality and timeliness of decision-making. Leaders badly need all of these to achieve their purpose and fend off competition. So how can you make learning, and its importance, more visible to your team? An easy first step is to embed learning in the questions you ask your team, both formally and informally. A leader's default questions are usually “What did you achieve this month?” and “What are you going to achieve next month/quarter?” What if you also asked “What did you learn this month that was important to your success? and “What do you need to learn next month that will be important to your success?” These questions go to the heart of your role in growing your people. Link these questions to the strategic purpose of your organisation and watch your future leaders flourish. #Leadership #LeadingTeams

Leaders create more leaders by leading by example and by nurturing the leadership qualities of promising juniors. Often, they begin by appealing to the hearts and minds of the people they lead. Those who wish to become leaders as well are likely to be the ones most inspired by their leader's vision. Elevating others to become their best takes a lot of work and patience. A random lesson here or there isn’t going to get the job done. You have to have your teaching and coaching hat on all the time because any given moment could expose an opportunity to teach an important lesson or use a question to coach someone to come up with answers themselves. Great leaders create opportunities for their people's growth — mentoring, encouraging, and elevating. They give their employees space to improve, the luxury to make mistakes, and the opportunity to learn from those errors. Great leaders grant their teams the freedom to explore and the capacity to excel. Great leaders care about their employees first as people and second as workers. They conduct themselves with the greatest integrity and model every day what great leadership looks and sounds like. They strategically position their people for individual growth as well as the long-term success of the business. #leaders #empowerment #motivation #teaching #opportunities

3 BENEFITS OF LEADERSHIP TRAINING 1. Assess Your Effectiveness as a Leader To improve your leadership skills, you must first understand your current abilities. What are your strengths, and how you can lean into them to become a more effective leader? What are your weaknesses, and how can you work to fill those gaps and be more well-rounded? Developing this insight can help you prioritize the best strategies for improvement. 2. Learn (and Practice) Important Leadership Skills To be effective, leaders must understand how to set direction, design teams, coach colleagues, deliver feedback, and build robust, trusting relationships with their direct reports. They know how to influence others, empower employees, handle stressful situations, and sense when to delegate tasks or tackle a project on their own. Perfecting these skills requires hands-on experience. Completing leadership training allows you to not only learn and understand these skills, but put them into practice in a collaborative setting. 3. Get Real Feedback from Experienced Leaders One of the greatest benefits associated with leadership training is the exposure you get to other leaders—both executives and peers—from whom you can learn and grow. Discussions, debates, and the general free exchange of ideas with others can offer insights and feedback that are hard to come by when trying to develop these skills on your own.
