We are facing a leadership desert, and it’s time to acknowledge that fact. The landscape has shifted and people development has been neglected. If we want strong teams and thriving organizations, we need to refocus on leadership. It starts with making leadership a priority, from the top down, and committing to that growth. Leaders are not developed overnight. It's our responsibility to foster an environment where they can develop. Investing in leadership is investing in the future, and without it, we risk losing our most valuable asset—our people. #leadershipdesert #leadership #leadershipskills #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipcoaching #keepitreal #keepitrealleadership #peoplethink #leader

It was an honour to share with a group of European business leaders this morning on the topic of why some leaders move on from disappointment, failure and hurt quicker than others. Special thanks to Harri Sundvik for arranging this as I transited through London. Some key insights from this: 1. Often our experience of leadership is different to what we thought it would be. 2. Is your definition of success big enough? Does it allow you to keep what is really important - your relationships, values, etc? 3. In this current or next season of your leadership, what is the prevailing script? What do you keep telling yourself that may help or hinder what comes next? 4. Create a 90-Day roadmap to zero in what really matters that you can begin to action. “It’s one thing to know what you value most in life. It’s another to live life as if it’s true. #alignment #capacity #leadership

My first thought looking at this research from Vistage Worldwide, Inc. (world’s largest CEO membership) is: What are 40% of CEOs thinking when they te not developing their leaders? The number one reason businesses don’t scale is lack of leadership talent. The number one reason A players leave companies is lack of leadership. Seems to be not if you invest, it’s how much and in what areas. Having a solid executive coach and/or a peer group helps you gain the perspectives you need to decide. #leadership #ceos #csuite #talent #development #ceocoach #peergroups
