Did you know it’s construction inclusion week ? Did you know that only 10.3% of the construction workforce is made up of women?
Diversity isn’t just about numbers—it drives innovation, improves problem-solving, and enhances project outcomes. Studies show that companies with diverse teams are 35% more likely to outperform their competitors.
Let’s champion gender diversity in construction! Together, we can create an inclusive environment that not only elevates women but also strengthens the entire industry. 💪🌟

Last week, we had the pleasure of presenting to Cedar Valley Women Connect on creating, achieving, and maintaining balance in our lives.
If this is something you struggle with, we invite you to do this exercise:
Make a list of your values. (These values are the guiding principles with which we strive to live our lives.)
Then, after you list out your values, reflect back on the last week. Where have you said yes to something outside of your values?
Being aware of our "yes's" and if they are in alignment with our values or not will give us a clearer picture of where we could be out of balance.
The question then becomes - Why am I saying yes to something that doesn't align with my values?
And that is where we can grow and learn a lot as leaders and as important members of our families to create a better trajectory forward.

Women’s month is a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate women in our lives. But we could do so much more… the real conversations need to start in our own homes and our workplaces. In what ways are we daily advocating for women? In what ways are making room for them to be heard and celebrated? In what ways do we intentionally set women up for wins? Women should not have to wait for August to feel celebrated.
Our campaigns and events about protecting, standing up for and standing with women should not be a facade to please or impress the crowd, this should be a genuine desire to see women win at home and at the workplace. Women are role models, prayer warriors, and leaders to many people in their communities and circles.
Personally, women have had the greatest impact on my life— their resilience to keep dreaming even though the odds are against them, the tenacity to keep going when it could be easy to quit, the audacity to serve even when not appreciated, the miracle of carrying life and raising children, the power to love, to work, and to enjoy life.
The drive to honor and vouch for women should not stop when the month of August ends. It should be an ongoing pursuit… 💛
Our goals as a business are simple, and we apply organizing principles to achieve them.
1. Make sure your strategy (the words) drives action.
2. Make sure your operations (the workflows) make those actions easier.
3. Make sure your workforce (the community) is organized to achieve together.
So when Erin Gallagher said she and her team needed support - we jumped at the chance to organize a group of people around an action, drive that action, and make it easier for more to join in.
The Hush Collaborative refuses to follow the business-as-usual line that political neutrality is the default policy. Simply by existing, we are political.
We support and will continue to support Hype Women and #hypewomenforharris because we deeply believe in women's collective power to create change within and outside systems.
We believe in the power of HYPE and storytelling to bring us together, connect us, and propel us all forward.
We share values, including being #honestforgood, telling it like it is, and centering truth over comfort.
But most of all, we are biased towards action, in our business and in our personal lives. Doing something – anything is the fastest way to learn, grow, and create more action.
If you haven't heard, Hype Women will continue the momentum of this incredible kick-off call with SEVEN MORE!
Follow us. Join us. Take action.
With their kickoff call, Hype Women for Harris is bringing together powerful women for Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz—together, we’re making waves.
We had a blast collaborating with the HW4H Core team—Erin Gallagher, Alexis Voss, Jennifer Cho, and The Hush Collaborative.
There is so much power in marching and protesting. And hail to all the women and people still protesting for women's rights.
I've had alot of conversations with friends and colleagues over the past few months particularly, questioning the value and purpose of protests.
I've engaged in countless protests in my years, for women's rights in particular abortion rights; against violence against women; for Indigenous rights and reconciliation; for refugees and asylum seekers; for Palestine even back when it wasn't being decimated; against the wars in Darfur, Sudan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Ukraine; for LGBTIQ+ rights and marriage equality; for racial equality; against Islamophobia; and many more.
Here's what I think about protests:
1. Protesting is a fundamental human right. And exercising that right should be promoted, protected, celebrated.
2. It is loud. It disrupts. And as it should. Change only comes from challenging the status quo and shaking is out of the comfort of everyday life.
3. It questions authority, power, and control - who has control, over whom, and for what purpose and end.
4. It keeps an issue on the agenda, it keeps people talking, it keeps it in sight and not out of mind.
5. It gives a sense of control in a world where the average person can feel helpless about what to do to impact social change.
6. It is solidarity in action. One voice, one protester may be ignored. But when it is in the millions, it can show those oppressed that they are not alone, that there are millions of people thinking about them, and lending their voice, and feet, to call for action. And it can show the oppressor/s that they do not represent.
7. And in a year where there are the most elections occurring globally, protests and protesting will count more than ever.
Hail to all the feminists protesting. Hail to the women demanding equal rights, the right to abortions, and an end to violence against women.
Hail to all the people protesting the wars in Gaza, Ukraine, Syria, Yemen, Sudan, DRC.
Often the same people because there is no peace without women.

Empowering Women, Building Connections: In April, we proudly hosted our ‘Planning for the Future: The Creation and Protection of Wealth for Women in Business’ event. Female founders, advisers, and investors came together to share insights, network, and inspire one another. This marked the third event in our series dedicated to creating a global network of women in leadership roles. For us, financial literacy within the female community is crucial to achieving gender equity across society.
A heartfelt thank you to our exceptional panellists - Sarah Wigington, Nicola Thorpe, Tess Newman, and Chloe Stages ACSI - for their valuable contributions on exit strategies, wealth protection, and future planning.

This is such a powerful reminder! As we reflect on the 16 Days of Activism, it’s clear that #GBV transcends generations and affects entire communities. It’s not just a women’s issue—it’s everyone’s fight. Men and boys play a critical role in this journey by challenging harmful norms, promoting equality, and standing as allies alongside women.
Ending GBV requires all of us—young and old, men and women—to work together with a shared commitment to build a safer, more equitable future. Let’s continue the momentum beyond these 16 days and make this a lifelong mission for change.
As we come to the close of the 16 days of activism that has been going on through the end of November until the 10th of December: I am painfully reminded as I walked alongside grassroots women as old as my grandmother and as young as my nieces that #GBV is not just a one generation’s problem! It’s a fight for all of us⚠️
