Bengaluru-based B2B agritech startup Agrizy has secured $9.8 million (INR 82 crore) in a Series A funding round led by Accion and Omnivore. Capria Ventures, Thai Wah Ventures, and existing investor Ankur Capital also participated in the round. Agrizy plans to use the new funds to expand its product offerings and geographic reach. The company aims to introduce contract manufacturing and advisory services, as well as provide financial services to MSME processors and farmer-producer organizations (FPOs). Founded in 2021 by Vicky Dodani and Saket Chirania, Agrizy seeks to enhance the processed agri supply chain by connecting suppliers, processors, and buyers of agricultural products across both food and non-food categories. The startup operates a digital marketplace for agri-products, offers custom sourcing for buyers, aggregates demand for small processors, and provides working capital support through partnerships with NBFCs. Additionally, Agrizy offers networking, logistics, warehousing services, and automates payment cycles. Agrizy aims to position India as a global food processing hub by aiding FPOs and MSME agri-processors in accessing export markets and achieving international quality standards. They will also facilitate working capital through formal financial institutions.Notably, the Indian agricultural sector contributes nearly 16% to the country’s GDP and employs about 44% of the national workforce.
