Textile industry insiders in Surat said they are getting enquiries for the production and supply of ready-to-wear garments from such brands. If these materialise into orders, they estimate the growth of Surat's garment sector could accelerate to 20-25%, from the current 12% a year. Textile hubs in Tamil Nadu, Punjab and Noida too could benefit from new orders, they said. Many brands, both global and local, that were procuring garments from Bangladesh are now looking at Indian manufacturers to meet their demand, as they grow increasingly uncomfortable with continuing instability in the neighbouring country. #textile #industry #Surat #India

Pls understand and facts why india exports is down after quota systems. I.our Govt.dropped cash incentives fro. 18%to 2% in Garments exports. 2.There is 10% imports duty charged in USA and Europe from imports from China. 3. Bangladesh Govt.is giving incentives 20% or more on exports . THERE IS NO IMPORT TAX IN USA AND EUROPE FROM BANGLADESH. 4. BANGLADESH LABOUR IS MUCH CHEAPER THAN INDIA. SIR COST FACTORS IS MAIN ISSUE TO BUYERS. INDIA CAN NOT DO MORE EXPORTS THAN OUR COTTON GARMENTS LIKE SHIFFLI EMBRODIERY AND VALUE EDDION GARMENTS FOR SUMMER ONLY. OUR GOVT.IS ONLY TO MAKE GOOD POLICES . INDIA TEXTILES IS IN BAD SITUTION TODAY EXPORTS AND LOCAL MARKET.

Good for India, BUT Why only Surat get the enquiries? Why not Tirupur in TAMILNADU? Or it is by design to boost Gujrat for everything.

If the Bangladeshi quota comes to India, then it will soon overtake China to become the biggest exporter of readymade garments. India should give concession by waving export duties and allow foreign buyers to place their orders with India.

Hi Startup for apparel export business already there in various garment park in Pan India Level. Ahmedabad has few park & all states have such parks . If apparel export promotion wants they can help entrepreneurs. Basic need to offer low cost loan & incentive to exporters. Encourage entrepreneurs byway of increasing export Incentives & lowering import duties of goods & accessories. Moreover, this startups needs help by providing information of potential overseas customers and their choice of product mix & international market rate as well margins . India can improve apparel exports in global market with it's own strength & capacity utilization. Basic point to reduce manufacturing costs by way of government incentives & improving productivity.

Great to hear that Surat's garment sector is expected to grow by 20-25% with the increase in demand from global and local brands. This is a great opportunity for Indian manufacturers to showcase their capabilities and establish themselves as reliable suppliers. It's also interesting to note that textile hubs in Tamil Nadu, Punjab and Noida could also benefit from this trend. With the ongoing instability in Bangladesh, it's important for brands to diversify their sourcing and India seems to be a viable option. Looking forward to seeing the growth of the Indian textile industry in the coming years.

In India, the government needs to balance the development budget across various regions instead of focusing on a single area. Concentrating development in one place has several adverse effects. It drives people to migrate to that particular region in search of jobs, disrupting the balance of resources, infrastructure, and opportunities in both the destination city or state and the areas they leave behind. A more equitable distribution of development funds is essential for sustainable growth and balanced progress across the country.

FAKE NEWS.

This is a fantastic development for India’s textile industry! Surat’s garment sector, along with other hubs in Tamil Nadu, Punjab, and Noida, stands to benefit significantly as brands shift their sourcing to India. The potential for growth in the sector is tremendous, with estimates of up to 25% acceleration. This shift not only strengthens India’s manufacturing capabilities but also positions the country as a reliable alternative to unstable markets like Bangladesh. A great opportunity for India to boost its textile industry and create more jobs!

Let us think differently, it won't help longer, even if neighbouring countries are having instability but if we innovate can do even better when they are stable.

It’s not as easy as you think. There are many reasons for placing orders in Bangladesh. We have a well set-up for RMG.
