My month of May started with this CNN “Connecting Africa” interview, my first time coordinating and staffing such an important interview — and I enjoyed it a lot! If you’ve never done anything like this before, here are a few things — small and less small — that helped me help my boss nail it. 𝙂𝙚𝙩 𝙖 𝙘𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙥𝙞𝙘, 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙚𝙜𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙛𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙥𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙙𝙚/𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬. Ours was about The World Bank Group’s ambition to electrify half the people in Africa who don’t have access to electricity. People who have never had electricity at home, never a light to switch on. It's easy to understand just how massive and truly transformative this ambition is. What is less easy is to explain how to get there, in such a short space of 5.5 years, overcoming some existing barriers, using new solutions, and maximizing the power of partnerships. 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙚, 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙚, 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙚. For such a short interview, you know that they will pick the most newsworthy extracts and leave everything else out. That means you have no other option than to be catchy and concise, all while bringing something new to the conversation. For me, this meant three things: - preparing a strong narrative while anticipating questions, - providing punchy soundbites to ensure that our story was told in a way that viewers would understand, and more importantly, remember, - and prepping Anna to help her assimilate the language and go through it together. Finally, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙨𝙚𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙗𝙚 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙚𝙙. These include thinking about a virtual background that matches the theme of the interview but isn't too distracting for viewers, giving fashion advice, or even going through the news and headlines on the subject at the last minute, in case asked.  If you've made it this far, don't forget to watch and engage below!

Tunisia's Electric Vehicle Transformation Plan Sees New Step to Boost Its Spread 🔹 The statement of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy indicated that Tunisia's transformation plan for electric vehicles included the adoption of Tunisian specifications for electric vehicle charging stations and the revision of specifications for cars and their equipment to include electric vehicles, in cooperation with the National Institute for Industrial Specifications and Property. 🔹 The plan also includes the consolidation of an electric vehicle charging network spread across the country, consisting of 60 charging points in public areas and large areas available in various regions, according to the specialized power platform. 🔹 Tunisia's electric vehicle intensification programme, funded by the Global Environment Fund, is to be launched and a pilot project to promote the acquisition of 5 thousands of electric vehicles is to be implemented, other than the proposal of a number of priority actions aimed at promoting the use of electric vehicles. 🔹 Participants in a workshop entitled "Electric mobility in Tunisia" confirmed that the step to promote the use of electric vehicles in Tunisia would come through the development of the greeting charging structure, while the need to finalize the legal framework on electric vehicle charging was stressed next summer. #energyticslimited #renerableenergy #energyefficiency #energyinnovation #electricvehicle
