Thanks to Tony Gleeson GAICD and Association Forum for facilitating an interesting insight into advocacy challenges faced by NFP industry associations. I am convinced that opportunities for strategic collaborations exist, and represent the easiest and most cost-effective way to combat the inefficiencies of many associations’ federated models. We just have to be creative and brave enough to take advantage of them! ‘Stronger Together’ was my main takeaway, along with clearly defining your goals, making them realistic, and being prepared to pivot.
