The Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) has just published its benchmark "State of the Market 2024: Trends, Performance and Allocations" report. Great progress being made in global impact investing. Highlights include: - Five-year growth in impact investing of 14% (driven by developed markets) - 100+% increase in use of equity-like debt (over five years) - High satisfaction with financial (86%) and impact (90%) performance achieved; 74% targeting risk-adjusted market returns - Dominance of US/Canada (nearly half) as target investment region - Growing interest in Sub-Saharan Africa, very little in Middle East - Dominant focus on energy/climate, but growing interest in natural capital - Impact measurement and management remains the key challenge The report is available to download at: https://lnkd.in/e99_XNaz

📈 Purpose Capital Releases FY 2023/24 Impact Report 📄 Adding to the theme of impact measurement, this month, the Impact Investing Network's project advisor, Joseph Duke Euphrat, sat down with the team at Purpose Capital to discuss their second annual impact report. While there are many moving parts to what such a report discloses - there's an overarching theme here: ensuring all investments trickle down to tangible social, environmental, and other governance benefits. Before going into the long-form article, we gave you a rundown of what that looked like for Purpose Capital's portfolios and what we can learn from that. Highlights included: ➡ Investments in Cool Sense - Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Spare Parts Supplier have saved 3,834 tonnes of CO2e from being emitted based on units sold between September 2023 and March 2024. ➡ The investments into Open Ocean - Whakatōhea Mussels Ōpōtiki Ltd have driven the aquaculture industry in Opotiki, one of Aotearoa's most socio-economically deprived areas, and boosted local employment and vocational training opportunities; there are currently 187 employees. ➡ Investments into New Ground Living have contributed to the financing of 89 new homes with long-term, secure tenancy potential.
