🎇 Happy Birthday America. 🇺🇸 As we celebrate our nation’s 248th birthday, it seems fitting for me to remind you that … YOU honestly have no clue what YOU are capable of. And we can be assured that in 1776, those folks had no clue as well. But that did not stop them; and look what happened. 😊 There is so much I could share from this point, but here’s what I have for today. 🌭 Make peace with the bad parts of your career. No job is perfect. 🍔 Be a life-long learner of things. There has never been an easier time to up-skill. You can find online courses for less than a meal out. 🌽 Be curious – about everything. You can’t improve outcomes if you don’t explore options. 🍉 Tackle fear and discomfort. See them as a part of the risk for growth. 🍦 The world will not get you at times. They may not share your vision of yourself. That's okay. 🍻 Meet problems with “how can this work” not that it won’t. Like the building of our nation; there are bad parts of the job, but we have learned along the way, been curious enough to grow, tackled our fears, weathered much discomfort, and still, not everyone gets us. Yesterday in kids' yoga, we explored the theme of "ninjas" and how their attributes align with the practice of yoga. When we reached the concept of being fearless, one insightful 5-year-old chimed in, “You need to have a little fear!” This sparked a valuable discussion about the role of fear in our lives. She explained that a little fear keeps us safe—a true reflection of the fight or flight instinct. By the end of our chat, we agreed that while it’s normal to feel fear, what truly matters is facing those fears and doing things anyway. It’s okay to feel apprehensive; it’s part of being human. What counts is taking action despite that anxiety—just like a ninja gracefully navigating obstacles. Let’s embrace our fears and move forward with courage, whether on the mat or in the workplace.
