Congratulations to Emily Slade on becoming a certified Retrofit Coordinator! 👏🎉 We are honoured to celebrate Emily's journey and recent success passing the Retrofit Coordinator course with AECB. Emily joined Keegans almost two years ago as a Data Manager, initially helping with assessment downloads and general admin tasks for our retrofit projects. With a background in Mathematics and no prior experience in Retrofit or the Built Environment, Emily quickly embraced the opportunity to dive into our various retrofit projects and learn from our team. “Over the last two years, I’ve worked my way up through the relevant retrofit courses, knowing my end goal would be to pass the coordinator course. I feel lucky to have had the support to be able to achieve this so quickly and I’m looking forward to the new responsibilities that come with it!” - Emily Slade. Emily’s growth and dedication have been supported by Jon Abbott, Ashley Simms and our whole Retrofit Team, who have been there every step of the way. Keegans is incredibly proud of her achievements and excited to support her in this next chapter. Well done, Emily! 👏🎉 #TeamSpotlight #Retrofit #EnergyEfficiency #KeegansTeam #Sustainability #ProfessionalGrowth

Cara Jenkinson, Cities Manager at Ashden & Co-Chair of WG3, will be chairing an event named "Delivering retrofit skills: how to leverage local partnerships" online on 20th May at 2pm! Colleges and training providers are developing retrofit courses across the country to meet the gap in skills and workforce to meet health, energy and net zero targets. But there are challenges. How do you establish employer demand for retrofit workers in a sector that has been very dependent on government policy? As awarding bodies step up to the challenge and offer more retrofit qualifications, how do colleges develop engaging training material? And how do you demonstrate the career opportunities in retrofit to attract new learners? Speakers, seeking to provide some answers, include: Dr. Sharon Grant- North East Institute of Technology (NEIoT) Ashley Deane - Head of Construction, Automotive and Plumbing, New College Durham Luke McCarthy - Green Economy Lead, Surrey County Council Caitriona Jordan - Head of Retrofit Programmes, Built Environment - Smarter Transformation Register to attend here: bit.ly/3JvPI6O #Event #Retrofit #GreenSkills

♿ In one of our latest projects, we developed a proof-of-concept route planner for people with reduced mobility. The resources of this project are now publicly available. 💻 The resources of this project include a code repository and dataset. The repository contains code to create a network with accessibility features and plan accessible routes. The dataset contains a network with accessibility features for two pilot areas in Amsterdam. 🌐 By open-sourcing this repository and dataset, we provide a factual and technical resource for developers and contributors interested in advancing the accessibility of urban environments for diverse user needs. Are you a homeowner planning your next renovation or new construction? 🏡 The application process can be messy, but iAccelerate resident #StartUp MyLot.ai have put together a fantastic explainer video that shows how their #AI tool simplifies the #planning process for council planners and applicants alike! Watch the video here ⏯ https://lnkd.in/gPZKrNvG and check out https://www.mylot.ai/ to learn more and ask for a demo
Did you know that confusion about planning is one of the biggest causes of delay in planning and development approvals? In Victoria, over 54% of applications are returned to the applicant for “further information” (PPARS https://lnkd.in/gPAymP5C, July 2023 - February 2024). These incomplete or incorrect applications create massive delays, frustration, surprise rework and cost for projects. MyLot helps people get their application right the first time. Learn about what MyLot does and why it is going to change the planning game for councils, developers and homeowners around Australia in our new explainer video! Thanks you so much Amanda K. and Jan Spinder for your amazing support and partnership in this journey. We are so fortunate to be working with such an innovative and collaborative team at Yarra Ranges Shire Council. https://lnkd.in/gPZKrNvG Check out https://www.mylot.ai/ to learn more and ask for a demo Tim Golsby-Smith David McCloskey Tony Golsby-Smith Eyad Alama Harry Court Clare Huxley [She/Her/Hers] Ash Crick Mark Sundquist Brent Wallace FAICD Tony Weir Elina WU Jeremy Brown Michael Ballock Sue Weatherley Corrie Swanepoel Shaun Beckley Paul Levins Amanda O'Rourke
