11,824. That's how many CMS Provider Numbers there are for Home Health Agencies in the country. How many agencies decreased in star ratings from October to January? 1,378. How many agencies have less than a 4 Star Rating (regardless of increase or decrease?) 9087. 9,087!!!! That is 9,087 agencies that are likely leaving $500+ per episode on the table because of incorrect or inaccurate SOC/ROC data. Here's a math lesson: 300 admits a month x $500. $165,000 per month gained. x12 months. $1.98 MILLION per year. That's meaningful. Most agencies aren't getting credit for the great work they're doing and actual fantastic patient outcomes that are happening. Why? Inaccurate or Incorrect OASIS at the beginning. If the initial data is flawed, how will agencies be able to show the improvement that is likely happening when the starting point was marked as independent upon SOC or ROC? The fact is most patients were independent prior to whatever prompted the need/referral to Home Health Care. What's the result? Missed revenue. Lower Star Ratings. HHVBP impact. Process Measures and outcomes are measured upon discharge. How can agencies get it right when clinicians get it wrong at the beginning and there's no appropriate or accurate measuring stick to compare against upon discharge? Let us help track star ratings questions, what we're changing most often at the corporate, region, branch, and even clinician level. We can show you the data so you can train with data! Ask me how we can use data to help drive your decisions and bottom line profit.
