Researchers at UC San Diego developed 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐋𝐌𝐚, a framework to enhance quadruped robots' loco-manipulation skills in real-world tasks like cleaning or retrieving objects. Using VR-collected demonstrations, Vision-Language Models (VLMs), and Large Language Models (LLMs), robots can break complex tasks into steps (e.g., "pick—navigate—place"). Attention mechanisms improve adaptability, allowing robots to handle chores like tidying or food delivery. The countdown is on for tomorrow's 5G Automotive Association (5GAA) tech demonstrations ⏰ The Ettifos team will participate in two demos with our 5G-V2X solution that has been field-proven in South Korea for over two years: 👉  5G-V2X sensor sharing, 5G-V2X sidelink channel statistics and monitoring Ettifos will provide live video streaming from the outdoor demo, along with real-time monitoring of statistics and parameters for the 5G-V2X sidelink (SL) in the assigned channel. 👉  5G-V2X interoperability bench-level demo Together with Autotalks and Keysight Technologies, Ettifos will engage in interoperability tests to show how collaboration among providers is key to ensuring optimal, reliable connectivity. Scenarios involving human-robot interaction, particularly in shared spaces, enhance societal acceptance of robots, fostering trust and inclusivity.

🚗 Last Thursday, 5GAA was proud to share news about our #V2N and the first-ever showcased #5GV2X Direct technology demonstrations in Berlin. #V2N 5GAA members and experts from the #automotive, #telecom, and #tech industries – heartfelt thanks to our members Anritsu, Bosch, Commsignia, Deutsche Telekom, Keysight Technologies, LG Electronics, Mercedes-Benz AG, Vodafone, and to the Coalition for Cyclist Safety – collaborated to showcase #CV2X services over mobile networks. These services aim to enhance driver awareness of vulnerable road users (#VRUs) such as pedestrians, road workers, and cyclists, and include alerts for approaching emergency vehicles. The demonstrations took place on Berlin’s public roads using live 4G/5G networks, enabled by fast and reliable information exchange through Multi-Access Edge Computing (#MEC) platforms. #5GV2X 5G-V2X Direct is set for mass deployment by 2026-2029. In Berlin, it was demonstrated in vehicles from various manufacturers, showcasing its #safety benefits like obstruction detection and real-time video streaming. This showed how technology can alert drivers about #pedestrians and #cyclists even before they can see them, leveraging sensors and a camera feed from other vehicles. A second demo highlighted its potential for improving traffic efficiency with a live showcase of empty parking spot detection. These demonstrations offered a glimpse into the future of mobility.
