Hiiiiii friends! We've all watched the DIY makeover home shows, where the novice designers get crucified by three judges for placing a teeny tiny armchair in a large empty space. Having a versatile set of logos in your branding is kind of the same thing... but honestly not as scary, I promise. You might have heard the terms primary logo, secondary, brand mark, etc etc - these all refer back to the different types of logo variations you can get from your designer. They each play a pretty cool part in carrying your brand seamlessly across the print and digital spaces you'll come across in your business life. And they all help in making your brand look amazing. Let me explain using the branding we did for Leah Hoskin Photography via the blog here: https://lnkd.in/gWJhg2rb And let me know if this is helpful. I'd love to know! A logo alone is not enough when creating a new brand - you need a solid brand identity behind you as well. Having brainstorming sessions to create a brand guideline, pitch deck, positioning statement and/or elevator pitch can all help to improve your brand identity first before you even need a logo design. Happy designing! ✨️

For people who’ve only ever been consumers of design, it can be easy to think that design is just the output. But design is so much more. It’s the rationale for why the output looks a certain way. It’s the research that went into ensuring the output is the right fit for the client, customer base, or audience. A designer isn’t someone you just drop in at the end of a process of defining something. That’s just hiring them to decorate the work that’s already been done. A designer takes you on a journey so you better understand why it’s best to shape whatever it is you’re building in a particular way. This is true whether it’s brand (like in this video below), or UX, or even interior design! So, if you aren’t familiar with design, and you want to bring a designer onboard, be open-minded about the process. It will sound like overthinking if you’re uninitiated. But if you stay with it, and get more hands-on experience, you’ll see why all of this thoughtfulness helps you mitigate risk.
