Some very appropriate changes to the ITT/ECT framework coming 2025. A good review by Department for Education really listening to those early careeers teachers and providers. Clearer sequencing and a more personalised approach. Looking forward to it.

In a report planned for Spring 2025 the Accounts Commission and Auditor General will publish a joint briefing on how well councils and the Scottish Government are addressing demand for additional support learning (ASL) in schools. The number of primary and secondary pupils with recorded ASL needs rose by 84% between 2014 and 2023. 37% of publicly funded school pupils recorded ASL needs. The audit will focus on education departments and their partnerships with councils’ other services, the NHS and third sector bodies – with the paper addressing provision of resources, monitoring needs, and challenges faced. The publication is planned for Spring 2025. You can read more here: https://lnkd.in/e3NKVVN4

Do parents know enough about what should go in an EHCP? Who informs parents and how much say do they actually have? What happens when you disagree with what has been added? Follow the link below to view the FREE FACT SHEET by Sunshine Support which outlines what should be included in each section of an EHCP. Are you supporting students in Year 10 with EHC plans? This is the video for you! Due to the requirements of the phased transfer, many LAs require students to name their preferred education provider for Post 16 at the end of Year 10/start of Year 11. This means they need to get out to open days, from October onwards... or they might miss out on exploring what places are best for them. Please share as needed. #inspiringpeopletothrive

As we begin to think about reforms to our accountability system in England, it is fundamentally important that we ask two questions: 1. How do we create a more intelligent (and compassionate) system of accountability? 2. How does it all cohere? Our new paper, The schools accountability and regulatory system in England, outlines our position on reforming regulation and accountability of schools in England, with the aim of building an intelligent and compassionate system of accountability. The paper also proposes an end-state solution for an intelligent, proportionate, and compassionate system with a single independent regulator. In it, we make seven recommendations, including trusts being ever-more explicit and eloquent about their vision and the measures that evidence success.
