One thing I take out of #TIA2024 is to never be threatened by talent in your own team. Embrace it, collaborate and give props. Rheinhardt Schnetler really propelled us to a win by focusing on numbers from the onset. Jason Mizen showed what he is made of when it comes to collaboration. Sadly last night, my passion for this task was not vivid on screen.
Although this was "task" in a competition, I strongly believe that if the proposed solutions are fully explored and made more practical in nature it could change lives. At face value, we simply measure economic performance on investor confidence, unemployment and strength of the currency. However have we ever considered the effects of proper risk transfer, disaster management which is followed by sustainable risk mitigation? Answer is NO.
Even on certain radio shows insurance is termed as a "grudge payment." The view should change, and instead of having this strong focus on insurance that kicks in when I die, how about building a positive perspective on insurance that takes care of me while I live? Once we understand this as nation (not as few individuals), we will be comfortable with transferring risk, and when disaster strikes, we will not find ourselves where the "have nots" are pulled further away from building wealth while scraping to place themselves back in the same position they were in, before the loss.
This will also reduce funds that the government, NGO's and generous donors will have to raise in order to manage the disaster and provide relief for the affected people. Instead, those funds may be channeled into boosting means of production, job creation and perhaps even a drop in taxes. We could all use a bit more in our pockets and, could really appreciate seeing fewer people having nowhere to turn to when things go South. I'll leave it here for now. Thanks for such a great task Muzi Dladla.
Well done to the Top 6.

An incredibly important and relevant task!
Will our #TIA2024 contestants conquer the challenge or will the judges find their presentations 'disastrous'? 🤔
