This is an interesting report on nature connectedness and pro-nature behaviour from University of Derby. 🌳 People who connect with nature are usually happier with life and more likely to report feeling their lives are worthwhile. (p2) 🌳 Time in nature only improves human wellbeing. Nature connectedness improves both human AND nature’s wellbeing. (p5) 🌳 Education recommendation: "Promote a curriculum with nature (and our relationship with nature) at its heart. This is particularly important for children and young people from the age of 10 years upwards." (p6) #OutdoorLearning #OutdoorEducation

Calling all #energyefficiency experts - listen to this... 👂 Every year for at least 15 years, I have struggled to assess, analyse and report on why the #renovation rate in Europe, and the world, doesn't go up faster. I have also documented literally hundreds of well intentioned financial instruments and incentives to promote home #energy savings. I have also interviewed many happy homeowners who live in renovated spaces that they literally cannot believe are so nice, and cheap to heat and cool. And yet, this 5-minute account of what it takes to really access Government support for #renovation (or in this case simply installing a #heatpump in the US) resonates all too well. In my assessment of support programmes in US, UK, Spain, Chechia, Poland, Netherlands, France, Slovakia, Mexico, and other places there is more than often a story like this. Eventually, through the effort of a community of stakeholders, sometimes - after years of effort - it is resolved, only for the next Government to cancel or alter the programme or its benefits - and therefore resetting the clock on the problems.... It literally doesn't have to be this way, and if we want to solve #climatechange - it has to be easier. For many years, our theory of change has been to insert a professionalised operator into this human equation to resolve it and make it easy: We are still working on banks, utilities, the post office, local authorities and a slew of "one stop shops"....
