My client asked, “How do I build my team?” My answer was as follows. Key questions to answer before you begin building your team: 👉🏾 What do we believe? 👉🏾 How do we express it? 👉🏾 What makes us unique? 👉🏾 What do we do really well? 👉🏾 What can we do better? 👉🏾 What is our biggest challenge? Now, my golden rule for hiring - “You’re either generating revenue or freeing me up to generate more revenue.” The most common people you need to hire first from my experience are in this order: 1. Assistant (EA) 2. Sales 3. Operations/Project Manager Hope this helps Kendall (Coach K)

Sharing some candidate and hiring manager scenario, let's discuss how is this related to you or friend around you 𝐇𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫: "Can you walk me through your role in this project?" 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 : "Absolutely! I recently led a team on an application aimed at streamlining processes for small businesses. My role involved coordinating between departments and ensuring everyone was aligned." 𝐇𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫: "What was the biggest challenge?" 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 : "Getting everyone on the same page! But through open communication, we turned that challenge into a strength. The project was a success, and it taught me so much about collaboration." 𝐇𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫: "That sounds rewarding! It’s great to see how teamwork can lead to success." 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 : "Definitely! I’m excited about how our work can help others. Have you worked on a project that shaped your career?"

How many job descriptions have you come across lately that blend multiple roles? Executive Assistant, but also Sales Coordinator? Operations expert, add in to manage programs? Not saying this is a bad thing but it’s a title and everyone is so focused on what’s someone’s history. So why is everyone so focused on titles, and hesitant to embrace versatility and cross-functional collaboration? Need someone to grow your company operations? Help train or recruit? Add new processes, fix sales or program issues, or improve customer success and program member happiness? Been there, done that. I’m in and I’ll help do it all! Count me in for the "self-starter" role. The "go-getter" who dives in, no matter the department, to ensure success across the board. That’s the role I’m excited to take on! Why is being a generalist or good at multiple things a bad thing? I see those people as who I would hire. Let’s start embracing this. #Versatility #GoGetter #CustomerSuccess #RoleFlexibility #CareerGrowth

What are the key traits you consider when looking to join a team? For me: * Credit is given when due, relevant stakeholders have a seat at the table versus just a talking head sharing other's success. * Communication is transparent, the politics are not bigger than the people. * Ideas are shared and not owned. * Transformation and change is accepted and promoted, not just written on the wall.
