This week, for #SafetyFriday, we're focusing on the importance of forklift safety. Forklifts are often used around construction sites and warehouses. They help save time and money by allowing you to move heavy loads quickly and efficiently. They also help reduce the risk of accidents on the worksite by decreasing the amount of manual handling required. However, when not operated correctly, forklifts can pose a danger to workers, property, and the public. Here are some standard safety rules that should be used when operating forklifts: 🚨 Always wear your safety vest and hard hat 🚨 If equipped, always wear your seat belt 🚨 When operating a forklift on an incline, ensure that the load is on the uphill side of the incline 🚨 When driving with a load, make sure that you are driving forward when going up an incline and backward when going down 🚨 Make sure that the forks are kept four to six inches off the ground when driving the forklift 🚨 When carrying a high load that blocks your line of sight, drive the forklift in reverse and turn your head so you can see 🚨 Make sure no one walks underneath a raised load and make eye contact with the people around you 🚨 Never go around a blind corner without checking first, and use the horn when necessary to notify others that you are present 🚨 When you park a forklift or leave it unattended, make sure that the forks are flat on the ground, the controls are set to neutral, the parking brake is on, and the keys have been removed from the ignition Forklifts are essential and valuable pieces of machinery, and by following these guidelines, we can ensure that they are used correctly and safely. #SafetyFirst #ForkliftSafety #WorksiteSafety #ConstructionSiteSaftey #ConstructionSafety #Construction #Telecommunications #FullCircleFamily

HIT-NOT: Detect & Protect Incidents involving pedestrians: December 3, 2019 A worker struck, pinned, or crushed by a forklift is one of the major causes of forklift-related injuries. To avoid these pedestrian incidents, it is important to separate the pedestrian and forklift traffic by creating designated walkways or travel ways. This is achievable with the provision of adequate signage, which is normally catered for in ISO certification. “It is also important to restrict people from entering areas where the forklift is operating. If not possible, develop safe work procedures to protect workers when they must enter areas where forklifts are operating,” says Shafto. “Pedestrians should always let the driver know they are in the area. Make eye contact with the driver to ensure your presence is known. It is also critical to make sure that the area is well lit and there are no obstructions. Operators should be cautious near blind corners, doorways and narrow aisles,” adds Shafto. https://lnkd.in/dRR4nCyq #forklift #safety #warehouse #management

🚧 Forklifts: The Backbone of Industrial and Warehouse Settings 🚧 Forklifts make heavy lifting look easy 🏗️, but without proper precautions, they can turn from helpful machines into dangerous hazards. Whether it’s an overloaded forklift or a blind spot disaster, accidents are preventable with the right approach. Imagine working in a warehouse, focused on your task, when suddenly a forklift veers into your path 😨. It’s a reality many workers face, but with the right safety measures, it doesn’t have to be. Here are some common forklift hazards and how to avoid them: 🔸 The "Just One More Box" Syndrome (Overloading) Tempting as it is to squeeze in "just one more box," remember: forklifts have weight limits for a reason! 📦 Always check the lifting capacity and distribute loads evenly. 🔸 The "I Got This" Attitude (Inadequate Training) 70% of forklift accidents are caused by improper training. 🧑🏫 Invest in comprehensive training that covers hazard awareness and workplace navigation—not just how to operate the machine. 🔸 The "It'll Be Fine" Mentality (Poor Maintenance) Forklifts need regular maintenance. 🛠️ Ignoring routine checks and pre-start inspections can lead to mechanical failures at the worst times. 🔸 The "Didn't See You There" Scenario (Pedestrian Collisions) Forklifts and pedestrians? 🚶♂️ A risky combination! Always use warning signals and train both operators and pedestrians on safety awareness. 🔸 The "What Blind Spot?" Problem Blind spots can lead to serious collisions. 🧐 Use mirrors, spotters, and drive slowly to minimize risks. At High Mountain Safety, we specialize in forklift safety training that addresses these challenges. Whether you're looking to establish a new program, expand your current training, or continue building a safe environment, we’ve got you covered! 💪 ➡️ Let’s work together to make your workplace safer! We at APAR Industries Limited understand the critical importance of safety in work environments, especially when handling forklifts. That is why we support the necessary use of forklift safety lights, such as blue, to effectively prevent accidents at work.. Why We Choosen Blue Safety Lights? Blue Lights: Mounted on the front, side and rear, these lights cast a bright blue spot on the floor, signaling the forklift's approach and ensuring pedestrians are aware even from a distance. Key Benefits: •. Increased Visibility: In low-light conditions, the high-powered LEDs of these lights ensure they are visible, enhancing safety across various industries. • Accident Reduction: With forklifts involved in a significant number of industrial accidents, incorporating these lights has shown a dramatic decrease in workplace mishaps. • Compliance and Productivity: Adhering to safety regulations not only helps in avoiding legal liabilities but also ensures smooth and continuous operations, enhancing overall productivity. How it Alarts : > This Blue Safety Lights of a Forklift Ensure Security and Warn Others When Backing the Forklift. > The Blue Safety Lights of a Forklift Alert Others When Moving Large-Sized Drums/material After integrating these advanced safety lights into our forklifts, we not only protect our employees but also boost operational efficiency. #WorkplaceSafety #ForkliftSafety #IndustrialSafety #Aparindustrieslimited

🛑 Saturday Safety: Keep Your Load Stable and Centered 🛑 Safety is paramount when operating a forklift. One critical aspect to ensure safety is to keep the load stable and centred on the forks throughout lifting and transportation. Why It Matters: A stable and centred load minimises the risk of the load shifting or falling during operation, preventing accidents and injuries. It also maintains the forklift's balance and stability, reducing the likelihood of tip-overs or loss of control. Best Practices: 👉 Proper Positioning: Position the forks evenly under the load, ensuring it is centred both lengthwise and widthwise. 👉 Secure the Load: Use appropriate securing methods such as straps or pallets to prevent the load from shifting during transport. 👉 Check Stability: Before lifting, ensure that the load is stable and securely positioned on the forks. If the load appears unstable or off-centre, reposition it before proceeding. 👉 Slow and Steady: Lift and transport the load slowly and steadily, avoiding sudden movements or sharp turns that could destabilise the load. 👉 Maintain Visibility: Ensure clear visibility of the load and its surroundings throughout the operation to anticipate any potential hazards. By adhering to these best practices, you can ensure safe and efficient forklift operation, protecting both yourself and those around you. #ForkliftTraining #CareerDevelopment #FindTheRightFit #keyfactors #forklifttraining #jobs #forklift #forklifts #materialhandling #forkliftoperator #heavyequipment #excavator #logistics #warehouse #forkliftparts #forkliftdriver #logistica #toyotaforklift #forklifttruck #lifttruck #constructionequipment #forkliftrental #pallettruck #forkliftservice #birmingham #wolverhampton #coventry #leicester #northampton #nottingham

Outdoor forklift safety systems are an important part of the material handling industry. However, outdoor forklifts require different needs than indoor forklifts. We’ll get to how to protect the asset with an outdoor forklift safety system in a minute. To begin, outdoor forklifts need to make their way through rugged terrains and extreme weather conditions in order to keep the facility operations running consistently. The outdoor terrains need to deal with uneven ground and a mix of concrete with potholes, gravel roads, and maybe even some dirt. Not to mention the weather conditions based on where you’re at. If you are in areas that have four very different seasons like the Midwest, you can count on extreme temperatures year-round. Other areas can be much hotter like Arizona or colder as Canada experiences. By ignoring safety precautions for these outdoor forklifts can lead to accidents, injuries and downtime which can erase a company bottom line profits. Now that we’ve identified the problem, let’s see what an outdoor forklift safety system can do.
