Here are some simple tips for reducing our carbon footprint during this season at home and work: - Reduce your food waste All of our leftover food needs to go somewhere and often ends in the bin, adding to landfill. This year, try purchasing less food and if possible use, or start use, your own compost or green bin. - Buy local If you buy locally, you’re not only supporting the local economy, you're contributing to lower carbon emissions. - Recycle wrapping paper Use newspaper or any other nice paper left over to wrap gifts. - Solar-powered Christmas lights Consider replacing your old set of lights with solar-powered ones. - Use your bin wisely Don't "throw every in the bin" when this season ends.
